passing emissions in NY with aem ems

how are you guys passing with standalone ecu?

legally no that will not work. But if you know someone I would presume they could do it.

Im curious about this too, my car is due for inspection soon and I had no idea about the standalone issue.

Basically you can't pass as there is no OBD2 communication on the readiness state of the vehicle. I wonder why companies haven't built in a fixed output to the port.

Unless you magically find a sticker lying around somewhere up there you s.o.l. No way around it really

Stock ecu is the way to do it. Ny sucks but that's the truth. Better off finding a stock ecu set force pass disable any extra trouble codes and pnp 1 time a year. There are obd2 sims out there but I know very little of them

Us Pennsylvania guys have that same issue. Sometimes you get lucky and can find a shop to give you illegal stickers, but even then you're at the risk of a cop running your stickers and getting slammed with fines because they won't show up in the computer.

I ended up switching to Stock ECU Speed Density because of this and haven't looked back since.

I run aem but ONLY since I have had it for years! Now a days I don't see a need for it since the stock ecu is putting down CRAZY #s !

I switched back to stock ECU for inspection. Make sure your FPR lines are connected to avoid codes.

I solved getting inspected, I just don't do it. My cars inspection sticker expired in 2011. Good luck.
