AEM v2 removal?

Hi! I was recently debating on upgrading some fueling and retuning my car for dual maps (93/e85).

All my local tuners want an arm and a leg to tune on AEM and frankly I don't trust a single one of them to tune my car anyway. There is at least 2 very local tuners who prefer to tune on stock ecu that I do trust however. So my dilemma is remove the v2, or travel far and pay a lot for a tune on AEM?

Current power is around 400 wheel on 93. goals are 500 max on e85.

What do you guys think? I'm not trying to be cheap btw. I'm talking close to $1000 for a dual map tune lol. Granted thats with dyno time but I'm use to paying like 250/300 for a tune plus $100 for a second fuel. I could sell the v2 for a decent chunk as well.

Thanks!

EDIT: Does anybody know the steps required to remove the AEM v2?

From what ive read stock ecu is good up until 500hp if you are still running MAF sensor. After that speed density is a must. but you will still be able to run stock ECU. Im currently in the market for AEM v2 for an evo 9 if you decide to sell. I have my sights set on 800hp

Yea that's why I think the v2 is overkill personally. Do you know how to remove it? I am not the one who installed it but I'm not sure how difficult the removal is.

Thanks

As long as you haven't moved over to speed density, then it should be a simple unplug the AEM v2 and plug in the old ECU (with a new tune obviously).

With a goal of 500hp, AEM V2 is way overkill for you. Do you still have the stock ECU?

I do have the car on speed density. I don't have a stock ecu.

Keep the AEM and drive to Buschur Racing and have them do the tune. They are only a 2 hr. drive from Detroit. http://www.buschurracing.com/

Most evo owners would kill to live so close to one of the best Evo shops in the country.
