EVO 8 MR Edition and the EMS

Im buying an MR when it comes out and i would really like to have an EMS
i found a used one for $1000 with MAP and a harness and i want to know if i should buy it.
does the AYC rely on the ECU?

I have a 7 with the AEM EMS, the ACD ECU is a totally different ECU.
I would definitely anticipate some sort of intertwining between the ACD and the ECU. But I could v ery well be wrong. I was wrong when I thought I caught "it" all with my girlfriend....boy was I wrong....hahaha
