Red Demon Drag Project - Mid 8's - 900+ hp - Boostin Performance

Last year was a great season - We made 50+ passes with the Demon and plan on making even more in 2012. Our best pass was a 8.62 @ 168mph in the 1/4 mile, and a MPH best of 170.8mph!! After capturing the 2G AWD record last year, the number 1 priority for the start of the 2012 season was to get the cage finished and certified.

Some of the changes to the car for 2012 are:

1. JMF Drag Intake Manifold replaced with a Magnus Cast V3 Intake Manifold
2. Kiggly Racing 12 tooth crank trigger wheel, so ignition timing is based off crankshaft position; not camshaft position
3. STM Front Drag Brake Kit
4. TMZ Performance Rear Drag Brake Kit
5. Brake Booster Delete Kit
6. Hydraulic staging brake
7. D2 Drag coilovers
8. GM alternator conversion
9. AngryAero Front Lip
10. Front Lexan widesheild
11. 10 point chromoly cage / chute mount / window net

The Red Demon is a spawn of satan no doubt and my favorite Dsm! Lots of time and attention to detail in this beast! Whats going on with the modified oil pan? Keeping more oil in the pan while racing?

Devins 2g has what most dsm drag cars dont. It looks super clean, as well as being a monster on the track.

Love this car, can't wait to see what it runs this year . Are you running a full wet block or is it filled?

Yep, increased oil capacity. I added 1.5", and about 2 quarts capacity. Also added the same 1.5" to the height of the oil pickup, dont want to forget that

Its a half fill so I can still use a OEM style waterpump.

Got some updates for you guys -
  • Painted the entire roll cage gloss black, everything else got pained a satin black
  • Installed the new TMZ Performance Rear brake kit.
  • Installed STM front brake kit
  • Installed CNC staging brake
  • Ran custom braided brake lines between the brake master cly. / staging brake / proportioning valve
  • Quarter Master 8 leg clutch installed
  • Port matched the Magnus intake manifold to the head, had a custom low profile TB adaptor made to keep the TB away from the passenger side strut tower
  • Installed all the wiring back in the car. We went through every harness in the entire car and eliminated all the needless wiring.
Also had a bit of a setback. After disassembling the Shep dogbox to install a new 2nd and 3rd gears, I found that the 3rd gear bearing was completely destroyed. The input shaft looks fine so all I need is a 3rd gear bearing and I can put the trans back in the car.
