No ****? LHD Evo 8 MR for 2.3? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

 

Converted. Or maybe MR lights. Oh wellz, the only difference of the Japan Evo 8 RS and the MR is that the MR is 6-speed, and thats it.

Our RS is a lot different from the US version. We still have the wing, except, we get its full 280hp and its 70kg lighter than the US Evo. Just like how we got all our Evos.

 

So the MR doesnt have radio or aircon too?

 

Not sure. The only Evo I know that came out here without aircon and radio is the Evo 5 RS. I got mine bone stock, even with the steel rims. I think the 6 to 7 came with aircon and stereo. The 8 also got aircon but no stereo except for the US version only.

 

Nakakatakot yung converted. If you dont use original parts and it isnt done right you could get into an accident.

Dunno why we cant bring in LHD Euro-spec MRs.

 

I heard that we have several MRs here already. Thats accdg to Francisco Blanco of Autoplus. Ewan ko lang kung Euro. Ill confirm with him kung Euro o hindi. He had tuned some of them already, and accdg to him, nothing that great daw about the MR. Sa U.S. lang daw special coz at least makakahawak na sila ng Evo with 6-speed. Dito, matagal na ganun, kumpleto ang Evo. What he wants to tune is the FQ330.

I've seen the price tag of the UK FQs and I think it better you mod it yourself. May come out cheaper. I've read that the UK company that did the FQs are selling the mods as a upgrade kit. Saw it on topgear.com a few months back.

 

Dunno anyone yet with an FQ, though there are rumors na some are runnin are streets na ren. Its better that we just stick to our own Evos. Anyway, we had been tuning Evos here since 1993 (MP Turbo Racing of Mike Potenciano)

evoWALO: I just got confirmation from a friend from MMPI. The present Evos being brought here are the Euro-spec Evo 8s that are LHD with AYC/ACD and with all 280hp under its hood. Per order basis. Sad to say, the salesforce at Citimotors tell u that the US version is a JDM version. Though we also had some deliveries of the JDM Evo 8 RS. Good thing I know someone who is so much into Evos from Mitsubishi.

 

phil_evos: I checked the meter clusters of the blue Evo being pimped by MMPI and it didnt have the options for Tarmac, Gravel or Snow...

 

Which Mitsu ito? Maybe this is the US version. The Euro and the JDM has the AYC switch and the meters indicating tarmac, gravel or snow, like the one in the evo 7.

 

This Evo was part of a display of MMPI at ATC a few months back.

 

Can you confirm it's availability? I am itching to write a cheque for a LHD MR with AYC/ACD. I was talking to a sales guy from the dealer behind dasma village and it's sad he kept pushing the evo 8 that was in their cainta plant was jdm. I asked him to find a switch for the ACD and all he could muster up was "SIR! may automatic at manual switch" haha I told him "pang intercooler spray yun"

Is MMPI selling the ORIG LHD MR? How much?

Ur talking about the Euro-spec LHD MR right? Couldnt give a 100% confirmation coz none of the sales people from mitsu are reliable unless u talk to someone who is very familiar. Accdg to my friend, its a LHD Evo 8 with AYC/ACD from Europe. Though there were some Japan Evo 8 RS with AYC/ACD that came in.
