Still impossible to hit 8.4sec at 149mph. That trap is so low! Watch vids in youtube to see it yourself. Even if the car weighs 24xx lbs it still needs higher trap than that. Even Rawand mentioned that the track is not a real track not prep or VHT on it so it means it will be harder to laucnh a 700whp car and nearly impossble get traction off the line.

I'm hearing words now that the timing system was off by a sec, hahaha. There's the reason for the low trap speed

i was really skeptical to believe it really..at that low trap speed for the time..that's why i was saying it MUST have been very light...the lightest it could get was around 650kg and that is 14++ lbs..and i didn't say it's impossible or it's true either..was just pointing out that it COULD be possible (maybe? not sure really)...too bad we can't see the 60 ft..and yes the track is not really prepped well, but they are using VHT trackbites (well my friends are using it for their shop cars. the track maintenance/personnel or whatever they are called does not put trackbites for all racers)..

but then again EvoSIx is hearing words...so it may be not true at all..not sure at this point haven't heard from my friends back there..

Lets just wait until someone can confirm the 8.4 run on 1/4 mile. Lets of possibilities that can make it true or fabricated.

And yes, the two fastest Evos in the Philippines are using lots of AMS parts, especially the VSR and the fuel system. I think it is only Vannitec using an AMS turbokit, intercooler, VSR, and fuel system. JCT-Blanche just uses the fuel system and VSR.

So this could be a 9.4 run instead?

What is funny is that W-Autosports or Vannitec did not doubt the time with the low trap speed. So there may be 2 scenarios here. The time is wrong or the trap speed is wrong.

What I even know is that the Blanche-JCT-Autoplus Evo 5 has a higher trap at 9.2secs.

Anyhow, about the street cars running 9s here, drag racing is not much of a big thing anymore. Unlike before where you see all cars in drag strips like Evos, GTRs, even sometime Ferraris, now its mostly hard core drag cars, or just stock Hondas.

From the time fun runs and trackdays became big here, people would rather spend in giving their cars a good performance balance like good power, good suspensions, good brakes, and a lightened body. They would rather go for vmax or maximum speed runs than just 1/4 runs. Sayang lang ang magandang highways natin like SLEX, NLEX and Skyway when it is so nice to blast our cars to its maximum speed for minutes of good adrenaline rush

...or they're busy breaking their arms trying to pat themselves in the back As a shop with experience in building and tuning race cars, they should have noticed it at a glance. It is also possible that they doubted it and did not claim the record. It's people who are so excited that claimed the that run as a record.
