Owner's Manual Oil Viscosity Specs
Owner's Manual Oil Viscosity Specs
G'day Oz. I am interested if someone could compile or more preferably scan the page in your Lancer's owner's manual which details what oil grades and service specifications are recommended for Lancer's delivered to down under. I'm looking for viscosity range(s) versus temperature. Usually it's presented in a bar graph type layout.
I believe from another bulletin board I belong to that Australia doesn't deal with the 'dishwater' grades of motor oil we use in the US such as '5W-30' or '0W-30'. However, due to CAFE which has manufacturers constantly scrambling to find innovative ways to increase their average fleet fuel economy, the mfgs have to respond.
Sometimes the mfgs respond in good ways, sometimes not, especially when they start specifying very thin oil to reduce frictional losses in the engine
Might be good for fuel economy, but not long term engine life.
Anyway, if someone could send some info back to me via email, PM, or post, I'd appreciate it...
EDIT...Sorry should have specified '02 / 4G94
