91' Fwd Gsr
91' Fwd Gsr
I have decided to get a 91' FWD GSR Turbo as it would be a great project car and there isn't to many of them around. It isn't intercooled, is that going to make it difficult to put a intercooler on it? I am thinking of an EVO 3 intercooler for it. If I changed the turbo, do i have to put a new E.C.U in? Does anyone know what the standard turbo is. I think it is maybe a TD04, but I could be wrong? I also want to put forged pistons in it, would they be easy to find?
Redbook said there is to versions, a 3-Door and a 5-Door. So I take it this is the 5-Door with a bodykit of course?
Cheers
Here is a good example of what one can look like.

In Australia we did not get a turbo version of the CA - CB Lancer. So unfortunately the 1991 CB Lancer GSR which you are talking about is non turbo, 1.6 (1596cc) 5sp Manual Multi-point injected. The identical motor is run in both the 3 and the 5 door.
As to the original question, does anyone know the specs interior wise (power windows etc) for the 91 GSR. I take it that it would be a CB model? Would the CC GSR motor bolt in? That pic from Alan has got me thinking of a relatively inexpensive super tourer style moded CB Lancer? What would a good condition 1 go for?

This is not a dis, but is the front bar meant to be on that car? as i can spot a huge gap between the bar and the grill. or does he have my brothers problem where his car is too low and scrapes **** that rips the bar down ?
That one in my first post is turboed. He did it, it doesn't come standard. That would explain why it hasn't got an intercooler.

Where did u find the pics and info on this car? I'm thinkin of trying to pull off that look (Stripes, and side-skirt stickers), but I need a better/bigger pic to geta beta look.
Also has anyone used photo editing programs to "Mod" car pics? What programs are good, cause I wanna see what design looks good on my car. Thanks.

Kind of slightly OT here, the US did get the turbo Mirage (Colt Hatchback) during 89-92. It has a turbocharged 1.6 4G61 engine, outputing 150-180 hp (can't really remember). It's FWD, a few owners in the states put the 4G63 motors into these cars, which has little problem accepting the 2.0 engine
I rode in one of them, very nimble and fast

Where do I find it, and how do I get hold of the program?
