Decompression Head Gaskets on Stock Engine running 5 Pound.
Is it neccesary ( is that how you spell it?) to run a decompression head gasket when running 5 pound boost on a stock engine ?
if so, wtf would i find one for my 4G15 carby poloise ?

There is a way to get JL safegaurd i believe tho. But it's all what type of pwoer you want. I guess I'm little biased to the whole Hi Compression and using it to its full potential
i guess.... a thicker head gasket would be a more "sensible" idear.

JL Safeguard ? i have never heard of it ? i do have a lot of detonation in my engine due to the fuel i use atm, which i will be changing to straight PULP or Ulimate ( 98 they reckon)
which does fix it.
Is there a kit i can make to make a knock sensor ?

But my only concern is that this is for Honda applications. Anyways... what year is your car.... and why did you ask that knock sensors are for fuel injected cars?

A carburated 1.5L Mirage engine? Awkward. Would like to see pictures of it. As for the boost, what's the stock compression ratio to begin with? Big factor in the equation. Strength of your guts (pistons, rods, pins, etc) are important as well.

when its all back together, the photos will be on the net
i can't remember what the compression is, but i did one of them tests where you put this meter in the spark plug holes, rev the engine at 250 rpm and it tells you the compression in the chambers, which are all 160..

Lancers have been called Mirages or Colts in the US up until 'til 2002. So in name alone, the 2002 was our first Lancer. We've had the 4G15, 4G93 and now the 4G94 engine. So we've probably seen your engine but I've never seen it. http://www.boostaholic.net/phpBB2/index.php That may be some help. You did a leak down test I think on your cylinders, not the same as the compression ratio. I'm looking for a number like 8.5:1.

if i find it again i'll get photo's, its a fully designed rally car ..
i have a workshop manual, so i'll pop down to the shed after work and have a look, it should say in there
