P/B's are deffinately worth the money as long as you buy the right one to suit your car your primary purpose for the car and other recreational uses... not much point in putting in a safc unit now don't get me wrong they work but are not that effiecent for what money you pay... for your car a good buget priced one with a few features would be a GReddy E manage but for something that will give you more options and more tuning capebilities you can't go past the Haltech E8 now while these may cost a small fortune the results will be outstanding and when you are done with the car you unhook it and take it with you - Haltech are about to release another firmware update for this unit so if you are interested and keen then you download it onto the E8 itself and then you are away to go and play or take it to someone to make the most of the extra features... really the best person to talk to about Haltech ECU is David at RPW he might even be able to give you a base tune before sending it out to you so it will be an easy plug and play for you then off to a dyno that will fine tune it up - too easy
Can the G-Reddy just plug and play (as well as plug out) like you suggested, so no messing with the loom?
When I saw the price tag on one of those Haltech E8 babies I screamed like a little school girl.
But gees louise you sure can do alot with them eey! 3D maps, tune almost every aspect of the car, even cook you breakfast!

yeah the Greddy can easily plug into my car but it won't work
but your car on the other hand it will work quiet well best thing to do would be to speak to David Mitsiman he will be able to give you the best recommendation for your car and the mods that you have done.... davidt@iinet.net
So it can cook me breakfast... now I just have to get it to make my coffee just right white with one
they are very good and I suppose this is mostly the reason why my car runs so well...

Due to the eletronic trigger setup on the mivec engine, no piggy back at this time like the greddy works, on the ignition side. Most can work on the injection side, but its only half the equation.
The Haltech E8 is obviously the best option, but we can also do the cheaper Haltech E6X unit instead. The E6X does virtually everything the E8 but has slightly less mapping points and has the more simplified boost control system.
Good news on the E8 tough, Haltech has just releaed an upgrade for it that now has self tuning options so any one can now tune it themselves, or fine tune it shall we say from one of our baseline tunes.
Both the E6x and E8 have additional controllers inbuilt for shift lights, traction control, launch rpm setups, anti lag etc.

David the gentleman Pubsquash has done a Evo 3 converssion to his CC carbie Lancer - he has done a fantatic job if you get the time read his converssion website very well presented and very well documented... anyway so the Haltech E8 will be suitable for his car?
