it performs much better than stock, i can corner harder and there is less body roll, but still i dont push it to far, coz one time i almost slide out(just testing the limits )
yeah the stock shocks will eventually give out, but coz when i had them done they were pretty new (5000kms on the clock) it was better for me to just get the most out of the stocks before changing to proper fitting ones; the guy at the shop changed all the bumpstops tho to give a smoother ride on the shocks.
all up it was about $600, i know its a bit expensive, but for around here that was cheap for me and the place is reputable (plus i was impatient and said id round up if he'd push someone back and fit me in - had the day off work), that included the install, modify of stock shcoks and all 4 springs. (had another quote from another shop $75hr for labor(5-6hr job) plus about $80 per spring, so it worked out ok for me i think)
yeah so just shop around, like i admit i could have gotten cheaper but this place we close to me.

i wonder whether what is the normal lifespan of the stock shocks

I am only going to lower it like 1 inch or even 0.5 of an inch. I am now looking at some body kit. Hehe. Did you know that the factory ground effects kit is quite nice?

Getting them done is a real pain. we all work on weekdays and they dont open on weekends. wft????

I also got some stock OEM fog lamps off ebay. I hope they fit.............if i could get them fitted............

The factory stock shock will last 20kklm with hard driving like what I have been doing and with regular driving expect about 40kklm

I think if you drop it only 1/2" it is not really worth it I dropped mine 30mm and it looks great but if I dropped it a further 10mm it would look much better but may not drive that good as ride comfort could be too rough

Before you commit to a bodykit get in touch with Accolade directly as to what they can offer you in the way of a bodykit I actually pick mine up tomorrow it has taken only 6 weeks for it to come from there to me picking it up - it is actually less but because of the customs thing and the busy time of the year I could of picked it up about a week ago.... they are absolutly brilliant to work with and make importing gear so easy and very inexpensive when you compare to anything else here in Australia - in fact it was so easy I am seriously thinking about getting another front bar and a bonnett for my car.... opps nearly forgot the other good thing about there bodykits is that they are made specificlly for a JDM car which is the Australian delivered car unlike the U.S delivered cars they have to make modifacations to the car or the kit... so when we get the kits they will be perfect

thanks for the advice mate. yeah, 1/2" inch drop is not much. Max i would go is 1" inch. My wife wont be too happy if i went more

accolade is great. they have been very helpful with my queries and stuff. The thing is, i had a look at their range. I want something that i can bolt on both the front and rear bumper that isnt too 'rice"

cant wait to see your kit. Do post it up when you get it chowtime?

PS: you ride is sooo hot!

How low did u go mate? I was thinking of either 0.5 or 1 inch. Should be more than enough i think. Can you also choose how stiff you want the springs to be?

umm not exact how low it went, but coz how the back end is higher than the front while stock, the back dropped about 1.5inches while the front dropped about 1 inch.
i have it so the mudguard part sits about a few millimeters over the wheel

fark. Really? 1 year already? ****. Did you fix the leaking pwr steering fluid thingy?

8 months with 5000kms? thats weak dude

Its all good. unfortunately, my wife uses the car for work, so yeah, the kms are higher.......

I still cant decide with the springs. I am afraid that that it would wear out the suspension faster. Maybe i should invest in a body kit and then some new springs + struts that actually match each other>?????
