RPW are rather expensive

You'll find there's a lot of people here http://groups.yahoo.com/group/gsr_evo who can help, and who live in Perth, apparently stuff is cheaper over there too...

Also seems to be a lot more wreckers with a lot more stuff....

I say the easiest and cheapest way is to have an engine swap!
The Mitsu Mirage Cyborg R comes with a 1.6 Mivec engine
similar to a Vtec. I forget the kinda of power it puts out but
they make the Mirage very quick, I think in the low 7 or high 6s.
The Lancer being similar in weight should not lose out too much
in performance. This would be the ideal engine as it wouldn't
upset your weight and power distribution too much too. Engine
size should not be a problem and because its non-turbo you
shouldn't have too much problems with stress on other engine
parts. But best to get a front cut and you should be right.

I have seen few in Aust who has done the conversions.

k&n pod filters

I am thinking of buying a K&N pod filter, but have heard that some models of filters cause problems with a sensor somewhere because it causes the air to swirl. How do I know if I have one of these sensors in my lancer?
Does anybody know of places in Perth that stock K&N filters?
Has anybody installed their air filter themselves? Is it hard to do?

Matt:

K&N are pretty common in Aust so you should be able to find them at any reputable auto outlet. As for installing a air fliter they are pretty much self explanatory...if not ask a mate how knows about cars.

As for the sensor, most modern cars have them and to help adjust the air/fuel ratio...where its located I dunno on a NA car.

Evoposer: I don't know exactly the cost of one, you should check out the issues of fast fours. Often they have articles of guys who do the conversion, else you could email fast fours and they should be able to direct you to a workshop who has done it.

Installed my k&n pod filter on friday, haven't had a lot of time to drive around with it yet, but the intake sound is pretty cool. Also seems to give a bit more acceleration in third.

Anyway there is a wild 1995 Lancer GL coupe in the September 2000 Hots Magazine. Its really similar to the 93 GLXi that ive got.

RPW Products

RPW based in Perth, we pretty much have every single item you could possibly want for the australian lancer.

For proof of the qaulity of our components - check out the lancer older brother website of mirage performance (The USA Equiv of an Australian Lancer) and you can ask the people there of how well our parts work. When we send over 60% of our products to the USA for these cars you can be sure that they must be workign well.

But as a quick rundown we have

Turbocharger kits complete - the only kit specifically designed for the car
Mivec conversions for early and late model lancers
Camshaftsd
K&N Air Cleaners imported specifically for the MAS sensors
Our True race extractors - theres nothing better on teh market
FSE Fuel pressure regulators
Oversize throttle bodies

and the list goes on.

Additionally, we are the only company to produce a new vehicle performance package that will enhance the power without voiding warranties.

anyway enough crowing abuot what we can do - if you live in Australia or the USA or anywhere, we have dealers selling our products. Drop through or email for questions of if you are in perth, drop in and have a look.

The only pictures I have of it was the turbo car on the website.

I have actually sold the vehicle and have now purchased a 3.5 V6 Magna / Diamenta which we are developing with a twin turbo system.

Photo's of that will be coming soon.

The N/A lancer we had has been broken up and the items sold off when we began development of the turbo systems as at the time that was our R&D car.

The magna is now our new R&D car.

Hi to all the aussie Lancer-headzzz....first time here...so cool to see theres so many passionate Lancer fans in Oz.....they're such a cool car.....i've had my GLI 2001 4 door for almost 12 months and i have never been so happy....

I also went to the RPW site and was quite impressed to see all the mods available (and the fact that they won't void the warranty)....I think the only downside to the lancer is the grunt side of things unfortunately so a little boost wouldnt hurt.....although i'm a little sceptical as to how the boost in power will be absorbed by the front wheels on take off....any comments on that one???

as for body kits in Victoria, i went to Scoresby Panels (dont have an exact addie)......they dont an awesome job...here is a pic of my babee....

Mods so far are the 16x7.5 ROH chromies on Goodyear F1 45 profile tires, max legal tints, full extreme evo style body kit, spoiler, wing and skirts, chrome gear knob, VICTORY racing steering wheel, customised twin exhaust, and the clear rear lamps.......

i was surprised as to how tough it sounds with the exhausts....with extractors and twin chrome tips it should sound wild.....once insurance gets off my case i'll lower it on its guts.....any comments or words of advice would be appreciated.....

Cheerz all......

thanx heaps for the kind words Kae'EL +MISGSR.....i love the silver....since i bought it i have seen all the other colours and i gotta admit, the car looks damn hot in every colour......the silver impressed me so much in the showroom...its a ***** to keep clean though....and i find that every stone chip is noticeable...do u guys find that???????

as for the exhaust i dont have an exact price but i think its around $800 from Mitsubishi (or an after market company ) as they fitted it for me.......

think i will go for an ram pod kit and extractor/kit now......

is it true that you can get up to 150kw with a standard bolt on turbo kit?????

that would be pretty cool....

i'll check out the link to your car MISGSR.....lets get that aussie club going ok

cheerz
