Question Modding a 93 GLXi Lancer

G'day, I'm new to these forums, my name is Julian and I'm from brisbane. Iv'e recently brought a 93 glxi lancer 1.8lt auto. I'm loving the car, but was wondering whats the best path to take with modifing it for better preformance. Ive run a 88 toyota celica that had a sports exhaust and im not sure what else(if anything) but we only got up 2 80 before traffic got in the way, my car kept up which i was happy with. but tonite i ran a pulsar q and all was good up till about 80, then it started to get ahead of me. So yeh any advise/ suggestions would be great! thanks in advance.
have a goodone and take care.
Juls.

heya.. welcome
is that a sedan or coupe your running ?? hey wait it has to be a sedan..
what you do to your car depends obviously on how much youve got. you probably wanna spend around 2 grand australian ?

for little money you could get a RAM pod air filter.. around 300 bucks not installed and a good exhaust will cost around 400. with the exhaust make sure you look around cause some places rip you right off. you would get about 10 hp increase..........

other things to look into is extractors, cold air intake, larger petrol pump and stuff like that........ hey yours is a CC lancer. interested in buying a Evo 4 white just painted front bumper ?

Hey Julian, my first car was a 1994 4 door CC Lancer GL, it had the 4G15 engine, yours would have the 4G93 which is the 1.8ltr engine. I put a 2.25" exhaust system on it and some extractors and it was a very good car. I know of several place in Brisbane which could help you. Email me at graemekhughes@hotmail.com and I will be more than willing to help you out. There are so many options I can tell you.

Hey fellow lancer owners,

Newbie here.

I've purchased my first lancer and car (93 GL 1.5) and want to do some basic modding to it. The above posts were a great help

Can anyone point me to some sydney places to check out prices and the like?

Thanks,

RPW Products

RPW products for all CC / CE Lancers are now available through well known MRT in Sydney. Anyone wanting our products can purchse it from them and get them fitted up./

Make sure though that you mention you aer after RPW products so you don't get mixed up with the normal run of the mill stuff.

YEs we manafacture extractors, throttle bodies etc for the CC 1.8 lancer as well as bolt o nitems.

ooooh.. try the newbie forum !

extractors are the pipes that comes out of the head.. they make them bigger so more exhaust flow.. which meaning less restrictive.. so ore power can be made.. some give 10-20 hp but you hafta do the exhaust and air filter as well.. but i guess the more extractors you'll find, the more hp you could prolly get outta one

Theres also a for sale forum as well, and if you keep scrolling through the pages ( i think the first page) you'l;l find that turbo for sale in WA

I havn't done the mods for teh CC Lancer yet but they are virtually the same - refer to the Proton Satria GTi which uses the DOHC engine for that information or the CE Lacner 1.8 if you have teh SOHC version as they all use virtually similiar products.

I will be doing some more pages on the website soon with more model cars and the CC Lancer will be one of them.

Email MRT ask for Cameron as I sent him a price list today and he can give you more info on prices there or send me an email and I can go over your products with you via email myself.
