Mitsubishi Evo VII JDM Immobiliser help

Hey guys sorry first post but have had a look around for an answer any help is appreciated,

Recently purchased an Evo 8 import, with the factory immobiliser system, just wanted some help as my spare key (without lock/unlock) has the immobiliser stick but it doesnt work hence the car doesnt start with the spare key only the main key, which is an issue as i want a back up if i lose the main key.

How can i go about fixing this issue with the immobiliser stick, where should i take the car? Also should i get another main key cut and programmed aswell as the plain key will trigger the alarm if i try and open car manually?

Any help would be great thanks,
Damo

You need two programmed keys to program another. If you have one working one that doesn't work, the dealer has to do it.

Or...

If you have a tactrix cable or know some one who does. You can disable the imobilizer. Then your car becomes easier to steal :/

I have one programmed working key with buttons the other is the spare with no buttons, i understand if i disable it, it will be easier to steal, but how can i go about getting the other immobiliser stick programmed as one works and one doesn't, the receiver is mounted just under the ignition and when i put the spare it nothing happens any ideas?

I assume i can get another programmed key with buttons from a Mitsubishi dealer or key cutting place that does remotes?

I recently had the same issue but I was still in the states at the time. Back there I had to call a local locksmith out and he cut and programed another key. If I did not do that, I would of had to go to the dealership to have them make me another key.

It is my understanding that a chipped key made by say company "A" can only be programed by a program machine by company "A". In other words you may not be able to take just any chipped key to a dealership and have them program it as their programer may not be compatible with the chipped key.
