97 Mivec

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone here knows if a 1800 lancer (96 - 99)crank would go into a 4g92 mivec if so would this be all that is needed to bring the mivec up to 1800 or would the pistons smash into the valves or something nasty like that if that wouldn't work can anyone give me an idea of how to increase capacity?? what blocks could be mated to 97 mivec head if any?? i.e nimbus 2.4? obviously i would rather use the mivec block if i can this is why i was wondering about the 1800 lancer motors crank in the mivec , also does anyone know the eng code for said lancer is it 4G92 aswell as 4G92Mivec or 4G93?? any help would be great thanks

I've tried to do this as well. Just putting the crank in won't work you'll get smashed valves. If u put the 1.8l block on then you can't find a timing belt to fit, I have heard of someone doing it but he apparently spent ages trying to find away of doing it. Plus the gain wasn't worth it. I think the best way to go is bore the 4g92 out, if you want to and forced induction.
Not sure about the Nimbus thing pretty much if the engine # starts 4G9... then the head gasket is the same but there could be problems with other things like with the 4G93.
Oh well have fun and let me know what you decide.

Did you see before this formula? 4G93 + 4G92=1.8 MIVEC ? Japanese is already crazy modified since in year 1998.

Well, I have 2 x 1.8cc 98’ Mitsubishi Colt cars already upgraded to MIVEC 1.8cc NA & Turbo. So, my exiting 1.8cc engines 4G93 NA & 4G93 Turbo edition and now is converted MIVEC series with using 4G93 Block, 4G92 Head & Pistons. And the ECU unit & wiring path is also use in 4G92 with MAP Sensor series. For using 4G92 ECU in 4G93 MIVEC, the ECU must be upgrade the IC chip to prompt up increase fuel, air intake & capacity. If can, add in sub fuel injector for increase fuel to help more fast response when MIVEC is activate. After this path, use in Apex-I products “VAFC II” is also can be more help on fuels, air volume & variable valve timing control to help on MIVEC response timing and Apex-I REV-Speed meter to manage sub injector fuel out-put & speed cut problem. I guaranty your car after upgraded and horse power min. is 200ps without additional any parts like racing clutch, CAM, pulley, metal gasket, ECU upgrade & etc.

Now, for my street use edition 1.8cc NA / MIVEC + 4 Throttle series currently horse power is 250ps / 9,500rpm.

(TIPS) -> My 4 Throttle is using Toyota AE111 series 4 throttle intakes unit & re-customized to Mitsubishi series.



And my race 0-400m Turbo 1.8cc MIVEC + 4WD series currently horse power is 550ps / 8,500rpm.

(TIPS)- > 4G93 Block + Re-customized Water Way & 4 x Cylinders sizes, and pistons use 2.0cc series <- (Secret model / Not show at here) + HKS turbo, Trust intercooler & G-Ready E-manage.

(TIPS / NOTE) - > When people upgraded, but engine is happened in knocking problem, try using your gasket / metal gasket to 0.28. It was help to preventing engine knocking problem. Because when engine is knocked, the knock sensor will disable your fuel / fuel cut.
