For a long time I have been planning to import an Evo VIII GSR from Japan, but for me insurance would be a major PITA, with Shannon's asking $2500 a year and AAMI and NRMA quoting upwards of $4500!! I can't even get insured with Shannon's because I don't currently have a locked garage.

$2500 over twice what I would pay yearly if I got a Australian delivered Evo 8 (or Evo X) instead and parked it on our car port in the driveway. I am currently on the market for an Evo. An Evo X was always one of my attainable childhood dream cars.

- Is it possible to swap out the wiper/ indicator stalks of the ADM Evo for the JDM one? It really annoyed me on my test drive.

- Are there any downsides to getting an Australian delivered Evo 8 over a JDM import? Otherwise should I consider getting an Evo X?

Most Evo IX I have seen either have a laundry list of mods to the point I'll be inheriting someone's project car. And they also cost an arm and a leg and my first born, so I'm not considering them, as they are essentially a more refined Evo 8.
