I am in qld, and bags are illegal.
One of my friends put bags in his car (did neone see that nuts meteor on Hot4s front cover a couple of months ago??)
Since then he put bags in, and his car is defected to the point that it got deregistered...

I also ranf QT about bags or hydros for my beema, but it is a instant bye bye baby to your car (rules suck!!!)

Same goes for spinner rims, i got some for my beema but i can only put the spin extra bit on at shows (got pulled over and revved and fined etc)

Ring your transport dept, b4 you do such an expensive mod as they can take your car off you/or make it unroadworthy, which would make it a really expensive exercise!!

I get sooooo mad when i see rust buckets, blowing smoke everywhere and cops dont bat an eyelid, but if you got ill wheels or you ride height is low, your a menace on the road???

Anywayz, Good Luck with whatever you decide

Laura

Ahh so true, its like they dont want anyone to be different, to show their creative and unique ideas, they just want the boring cookie cutter made cars.

which sucks a whole bunch!

Are you sure about the spinners. Im up in Cairns, QLD and there are quite a few cars going around with spinners. Also one of the biggest tyre dealers in Cairns have spinners on their work utes and they have advertised on TV. So it makes me wonder if they are illegal. If they are then sorry for my mistake.

Yep, most definetley sure, got a defect notice for them.
I am on the Sunnie Coast and we have cops from Boondal in Bris Vegas who come down every 2 weeks or so and their purpose is to defect cars!

I got defected for having a sticker on my windscreen (along bottom where my wipers are).

I got so peeved about the whole thing (got 5 in one hit in my lancer, then 3 in beema one being the wheels) that i rang qld transport, and they sent me out this book. The book wasnt really clear, so i asked they guy when i had to take my car in to the pits and he said no to spinners.

You should get the book and check it out tho': it gives you all these guidlines for rideheight etc etc, then there is little paragraph in fine print on the back which basically says in fancy wording: 'Cops can hand out a fine if they see fit'.

I myself have been told no, but hey just depends if you get a nice cop or not! So basically there is nowhere in Black and White is says spinners are illegal (i think that is way to high tech for QT), but i myself have been defected and told they are so...they dont make it easy to do the right thing!

BTW: My lancer was defected for stereo, exhast, sticker, neons and ride height, which have all been fixed on my car now that is for sale...(turn down stereo, turn off neons, took off sticker and exhast and ride height took $$ to fix but newayz...., just incase anyone was intersted in checking it out for a future ride!)
