Angry enlighten me

how everyone how yah doing

why is it that there hasnt been much coverage on horsepower high evos??
i mean like you always hear about skylines shoving out 700kw+ at the wheels
but there are rarely any evos out there which have made such amounts of power

I know that you do lose some power through the 4wd system but i just dont see why it isnt possible to mod an evo such that its output can match them godzillas

is it cos the RBDeTT engines are too good or what?

There was an evo in motor not too long ago putting out 483 AWKWs on 106RON fuel...

But you gotta remember evos are 2 litre four bangers and GTRs are 3 litre inline 6s...

GTR's are 2.6L not 3.0L. The Evolution is made to get from point A to point B (rally) in the fastest time possible, it was never created for outright power. However there are several Evolutions over 500hp so nothing sneeze at. The GTR's have a larger engine to start off with, so it makes it a little easier to pull the extra power out of it.

I know for sure the 2002 onwards R34's GTR have the 3.0l V6 motor, and i know of a few GTR's with the RB30 motors, dont know if they are conversions or not, but they are around

New Zealand have the best range atm.. they have a Black evo 3 running a 9.2 with around 500hp at the wheels, and also i white ( or it might be a grey, eyes are getting old so quickly!) Evo3 running a 9.5

The highest that i know of around here is Rob Barac APC Evo 2, and that was up around the 400 mark and he's running a 9.97 1/4..

I am not sure where you are getting your information from MRlancerboy, but R32 R33 and R34 GT-R all have the RB26DETT - Inline 6, which is a 2.6L. The R34 specs are as follows: RB26DETT - Inline 6 Twin-Turbo Charged dohc 4-valve/cyl
Displacement [cc] 2568
Bore & Stroke [mm] 86.0 x 73.7
Compression Ratio 8.5:1
Redline [rpm] 8000

Max. Power [Bhp at rpm] 280 at 6800 (official) 327 at 6800 (real- V spec)
Max. Torque [lb-ft (Nm) at rpm] 293 (400) at 4400
Bhp/Liter 109 127.3 (V spec)

The engines are often bored out to 2.7L and 3.0L but they are still a RB26DE. It is the same as when we bore out the 4G63T DOHC Evolution engine to 2.2L

I think MRlancerboy is referring to the R35 Skyline. Its actually a 3.0 V6 or a 3.5L V6 (same as 350z), but according to the Nissan Japan website, there isn't a GTR yet available.

That apparently will still have the 2.6 twin turbo, from what I have read in various mags.

I got my info from a Wheels magazine from about 2 years ago when they matched a 2002 R34 GTR skyline against the HSV GTS Coupe, the skyline with the twin turbo 3L V6 and the GTS with the 5.7L GenIII V8. Im sorry if im mistaken, im just putting it down straight out of the magazine. Personally i favour the RB26 motor. Just letting you know what i know

Well there are some Nismo GTRs that were factory bored out to 3L but they were almost double the normal GTR price and were fully worked

There is an 'evo' over here in NZ that was made for the race to the sky rally in Queenstown which was full space frame with full carbon fibre panels that was getting over 800bhp atw with an evo 8 motor
