EVO 8 Mod's

So who is going to make modifications to their new evo 8?

And if so, What are you doing? and who are you getting to do it?

Anyone got any comments on the APS EVO8 exhaust kit? etc?

The first thing i want to do is change the exhaust, but im not sure wether to get a kit such as APS or go a custom exhaust from a local exhaust place such as Exhaust technology in SA

Comments guys?

Cheers

Shane

AT the moment i do not have any plans to do any modifications to the car. If the car does not come with dials i think some defi gauges will do nicely!!

The first thing i will do is put a sweet sound system in the rod!!!

Looking at the alpine gear mostly.

Alpine and Rockford Fosgate for me.

APS make nice products, so i'll probably go for their exhaust. A set of guages, and eventually an Autronic/Unichip ECU.

Use the suspension they use on the MR- Blisten. Or just replace the springs. I may think about doing that!!

Just replace the springs - a set of King or Lovells will do.

hey guys have any of you had a call from your dealer yet??

Also whats you guys opinion about the tyres- Bridgestone R050 A. Im not very happy!!! Last tyres i driven on where continental conti contact sport 2 and they probably are the best tyre i have driven on. But only last 10 000 km . I have used SO2's, S03's, Peralli P-Zero Russos. Seriously we should be getting a better tyre standard than that!!!

Spoke to my dealer this morning.

I was told 50 would be delivered to dealers in around 2-3 weeks or so with the rest in December - I know previous info on here had the cars progressively arriving June-Sept. I was told there are only ten in the country at present - those used for press and dealer viewing etc.

I was told there will "definitely" be no power up kit supplied by either Mitsubishi or Ralliart but someone (eg a business) may decide to bring in the parts for a Ralliart kit and it was possible there might be some discussion between Mitsu and whoever it is for consideration of how it affects the manu warranty. Looks as though it will be up to the individual. Suspension parts (rear strut brace, springs, shocks etc) may be available through Ralliart however.

Around 25% of the cars will have leather as standard and is the only option at $3k.

The tracking system is apparently very similar (the same?) as that supplied with HSVs. No details other than that available. All cars with Data Dot.

Performance specs and power have been quoted by Mitsu Japan - one of my previous posts spoke about power....apparently the press have found around 5.9sec 0-100kmh in the test cars. I still reckon power is genuinely around the 215kw mark...maybe between there and 210kw but it is definitely more than 195kw.

Rest of the info is well known.

Regards

Now, i have just spoken to my dealer and what i can take from the whole situation is that this hole thing is a big ***** up!!!!!! I know i have one coming through. but still. Look at everything we have been through!!

Its June and they still cant give us a acurate date for delivery.

Oh well whatever hopefully we get that power up pack!!!

How can people get there orders this week if the cars are not even in the country????

Hello everyone, I thought some of you may be interested in what I have available. As some of you may know I am able to get the complete range of Ralliart parts, many of which not available to general public, and I thought the following would look perfect in these new VIII's. The dash features a 300klm/h dial to the left and a 10,000rpm tacho in the centre. The other picture shows the triple meters, which fit nicely in the single, din space and has been designed for the vehicle. I am not here to push anything what so ever, Ralliart has just revealed these to me (along with a long list of other products) if I can help out in any way with anything please contact me at graemekhughes@hotmail.com. Not to be a pain, but anything you are chasing a price on will only be responded to once contacted via email, I may be able to work out a better price or even product (or even point you in the right direction). I have been around these Evolutions for quite some time now and the VIII should create a whole new era of excitement.

I understand there the springs for EVO 8 and EVO 8 MR are different becos of the Bilisten Shock and do you know which springs are suitable for the Bilsten shocks.

Thanks

Great thing about this car is the lack of mods needed to make it REAL fast. I have waiting a set of Tein RA's, apexi avc-r, cusco front pipe and halfya f1-spec muffler with 3.5' catback piping. I'm in the process of obtaining software from a collegue working for ralliart in the UK to re-flash the standard computer and the AYC. So therre is no need for aftermarket ecu. Hopefully i can make this available to people aswell. My company is working on a few upgrade kits.

Although power-wise I am down grading my car (from a 250kw Evo 4 WRX) I am going to keep it stock for a while so I can learn the car thoughrouly before modding it. But first off with be suspension (geometry and coil-overs). Then will come the power-ups as stated by "rjhug1".

rjhug1, which company do you work for? There is an Evo8 rally team based here in Perth being RT. Previously I had been affiliated with Subaru rally teams here on Perth.
What intentions do you have for the new Evo? Daily driver that goes and goes, or track time?

Cheers
