Buying evos in Australia.
The lastest GSR i've seen on sale here was a 1999 (or was it 2000?) model, that was about 27,000ish NZ dollers..
No idea how much for a slightly modded one as most of the new GSR's that come in are standard. You do get the odd modded one but that doesn't sell for much above standard.
Like this one for example, http://www.autopoint.co.nz/marketpla...=1&chkRows=500
It sells for about the same as the others.

Go for the 1.8L local GSR...i've seen quite a few decent ones going for between 14-16k. And once in a while, a 2L converted GSR will pop up for about 18-20k.
I think these cars do have the potential for drag meets considering the weight of the car.

Every Evolution shape lancer (CC,CE,CG) are all very nice cars. I would not snub my nose at the CC Lancers, there are some very good buys. If you were in the market for a exceptional performance car and did not have much to spend, the CC Lancer has a lot to offer. First of all there is the GSR, which many are selling for around $15000. Then there is the EVO I,II & III. I have seen EVO I & II for sale around the low twentys.
true, not many EVO TME left in OZ, i just bought one, apparently this was the last red one in OZ.
it was on display for 86660.- for number of months and 2 weeks ago they brought the price down to 69,490.- so i just couldn't resist
i asked for some extras : diamond tint, paint & body guard, anti-corrosion guard, warranty extended to 6 years,... and ended up paying just over 73,000.

There are 5 TME Evo 6.5's available in WA at the moment - The dealer can't shift them. I happen to know from a reliable source that if someone (a cashed up someone) bought all 5 then the dealer would let them go for $50000 each.......
