Its ready now. I'm building a little at a time in a way that causes minimal downtime. Not sure when ill be finished.

Tires and wheels one month. Turbo, cams and new tune another. etc.

In the meantime, get your fenders rolled as soon as you get your car back. We can codrive your built evo with 285 rcomps. If you want.

And I'm still considering competing in one/some of the AutoX events this year. When is the next event where I can get some good seat time and/or instruction?
Todd,
I feel like the NTAX events are the most newb friendly. Last year was my first season and I did 3 NTAX, 1 ER and 1 BMW. All were laid back but everyone seems to know everyone at NTAX and even the older guys were helping me out with tips and motivation. The next NTAX event is March 24th at TMS btw

I agree with this completely! NTAXS is my favorite club and my first priority. They really do pull off a novice friendly environment, laid back, and yet they end up being more organized than the other clubs. I personally like the challenge and the mix of cars in their classing and better yet each class has it's own r-comp category. So you don't have to compete against stickies if you don't want to.

What's new this year? Did you decide on a color scheme?

I'll be on RS3's with rear sway for the first half and that's about the only change. Still, I think it will be monumental based on how conservative my setup is. I'm looking for some cheap IC pipes, downpipe and test pipe, and of course an EvoD tune about half-way through the summer though (wedding budget trumps autox budget).

I'm looking forward to a fun and awesome season with all of y'all, that's for sure!

It will be done!!! I'm already squeezing in the 18x10 w/ 285 R-S3. I'll take some runs on the rcomps!!!

Next year I will be running rcomps for sure, maybe later this year if I burn through the R-S3s. Doubt it though. They hold up really well when used only for events.

NTAXS it is, then!!! March24-25 may be pushing it, though. We have a NASA race MSR Cresson the weekend before. Not sure if we will be able to do a good shakedown/preparation in 1 week.

There are 5 more after that! Also, you could give BMW/PCA a shot, same format and equally as fun!

A quote from Jerrett Jan...

"All clubs have released their 2012 schedules, so www.dfwautocross.com is updated with all of the autocrosses in the DFW area for 2012."

I'm looking forward to the new season, but am in the same boat as Jeremy until the car upgrades are complete. Hoping to get everything back together by 11 March to comply with the FP rule changes. See you'all soon.

So is anyone going to run SCCA this year besides Jeremy, Jeremy, and myself? I don't think my car will be ready by the 11th.
