AMS Upper IC pipe now available

Well it was a long anticipated piece to add to our lineup but we finally have it ready. The AMS UPIC pipe is made completely of lightweight polished alluminum and included the moter of all blow off vlaves...the TiAL. We have long stated that an UPIC pipe would make very little gain over the stock one and we stand by that but we had a huge demand for the piece based on cosmetics and the addition of an aftermarket Blow off valve. We were able to extract 4 hp from the pipe by swinging it out and making the bends less aggressive. Because of the bend orientation the pipe will have to be run in conjunction with our Small battery kit or a similar one. I have posted a link below showing pictures of the piece. If any of you have any questions or comments please feel free to post. This pipe with the TiAL BOV will retail at $459.00

Can the Tial be recirculated and will it work with the stock airbox?

upper ic/intake kit

Nice plumbing, and the welds are very impressive, my question is : Is this set up uses a speed/density sensor? (since there is no maf) and if it does where is it?

I'd appreciate it if you could pm your response with a little explanation so I could better understand this set up. I'm very interested.

Thanks

no it cannot be recirculated but of all the atmospheric BOV's it carrys the heaviest spring so the typical problems with a vented BOV are not as noticable. No it cannot be used with the stock airbox, but you dont want that chunk of plastic anyway's

Yes that particular car is a speed density car so there is no MAF. That car has AEM EMS and it used a 3.5 bar MAP sensor mounted on the firewall.

I don't know if I can make it...sunday is my brother in laws B-day as well. I was thinking of bringing him up there for the hell of it, but he has non-hodkins lymphoma (spelling?) cancer and sometimes is restricted from doing crap outside. We'll see though...

Just nice that you guys finally got this done and that it comes with a Tial BOV...been wanting one for a LONG time...just wanted to hear it first.

Sweet. I just wish you could run a different bov set up. I love the tial, but right now it's just more money I could use elsewhere. Good work anyway.

Will your upper and lower intercooler pipes work with the stock intercooler? What type of intake can you use? hks racing suction? apexi intake? rmr intake? aem typhoon intake? etc... Keep up the good work!!!

Ok...don't quote me because I might be wrong...but these pipes work with the stock and most aftermarket IC's as long as they have the same general in and out ends as stock (i.e. AMS FMIC, Buschur Racings new style FMIC, Greddy FMIC, etc.). You can use any type of intake you want. Even if it's just a basic K&N Style cone filter such as what AMS sells...just make sure you get that thing tuned because just adding an intake throws off your A/F Ratios and actually hurts performance a little.
