Question about ported head and intake manifold

My current setup looks like it will leave me just barely short of where I want to be power-wise in the upper rpms (read: my torque curve drops off too fast past 7000 rpms), so here's my question:

- Will a ported head increase upper rpm torque more than low-end torque?
- Will your intake manifold increase upper rpm torque more than low-end torque?
- Got any ideas as to what else I can do to flatten out my torque curve (gt30r/gt35r is not an option at this time)?

I'm not looking for a huge increase, but we are talking ~15-20 ft-lbs past 7K. The current torque curve puts my shift points right at 8000rpms. I would like to be able to extend that out to about 8300-8500rpms.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Stock EVO head is absolutly amazing! Already has a 3 angle valve job!

The intake manifold should get you that last push you are looking for. I really dont think you will gain all that much from a ported head on your setup. Which works out well because the manifold is cheaper

You sure about that? I was under the impression that the intake manifold made power across the entire rpm range. If it does make more power in the upper rpms than the lower rpms, then I'm sold ... BUT ... the one thing that I don't want is to simply gain, say 10whp across the powerband. Instead I'm looking to change the shape of the power curve (i.e. to flatten it out more).
