No more misleading than an AWD dyno :-) If you are looking for crank HP than both ways are still way off, you'd really have to put the engine on an engine dyno. The only way it's misleading is if you're looking at the power that is actually getting to the ground. And in that case I usually take off another 10% from our FWD #'s to account for the extra drivetrain loss. To me the numbers are not misleading because I have enough dyno experience to tell what a car will do on the track from the dyno numbers (be it a FWD car or AWD converted to FWD). Currently we made 321whp with our cat-back and I can tell you the car wil run 12.5-12.7sec at 106-107mph in the 1/4. We will be going to the track on opening day (april 5th) so we will back that up.

Well Martin, you have made my day. You uttered the five words "Area under the power curve". In the "peak horsepower" and "what % will this bolt on part add" mindset, this sort of thinking is truly great.
