AMS GT42 Question

I know it must be difficult to fit a turbo as big as theh 42 in the space provided even with the small radiator in the kit, but i was wondering if you ever considered using a liquid to air intercooler similar to the one on the Turbo trix evo and putting the radiator in the intercooler location...would that be as efficent???

i think that would just be more of a challenge because there needs to be a lot of room in the engine bay to do that. and i think there race fmic would out do the liquid to air

Personally, air to water = full time drag car, meaning not efficient for street use.

I have a good friend who runs an air to water on his daily driven turbo acord and he has had no problems with it, it drives it daily, autox and drag races with it.The car is pushing around 350 at the wheels and it will go higher once he gets the gm three bar to work. Just curious as to why u say its not efficient for street use?

Because once the water gets hot your screwed, where as with an AIR to AIR IC both the air cooling the IC and flowing through the IC is constantly fresh, where the water in most AIR to WATER IC's the water just sits in the IC and gets hotter and hotter....

the air to water i/c that turbo trix uses isn't very effiecient anyways. your better off with the a large front mount. only company that makes some really nice air/water intercoolers is precision.

AMS race core is good for 70 degree drop over standard cores.

You can make adequate power (A LOT) with a smaller turbo. CBRE is runnin' 10s on a GT35R AND a stock turbo. Don't get ahead of yourself...the GT42 is a SERIOUS turbo. Take these things in stride, motors aren't cheap. Your 16g has a TON of potential...I've got enough parts at my shop to put you in deep in the 11s.

More importantly...how well modded are you right now? What's done? Electronics, reflashe, BPUs even? Let us know so we can better help, instead of jumping into a ridiculous turbo. No offense intended, by the way.
