Intercooler (newb question)

Would there be any use and is it possible to take out the radiator in a car and replace it with an intercooler for a non turbo application? Would this do anything? Stupid question. I searched and couldn't find an answer.

radiator--> cools off the antifreeze/water/whatever coolant solution you are using which in turn is used to cool down the block, head, etc. this keeps the engine from over-heating.

intercooler--> intended to lower intake temperatures that are greatly increased when the car is boosted. although lower intake temps decrease the overall engine temp; an intercooler is not designed to directly cool the engine.

2 different parts; 2 different functions. i say leave the radiator be
