I got the AMS stage 1 in problably September last year and of course came with the autometer gauge, it seems to at times be almost a full 2psi off of my boost controller reading, i will soon be uprading to the defi most likely.

I think it's a very good package for people local to AMS who can come in for a custom flash, since they don't do mail-in flashes. I would prefer a Forge or Hallman MBC, but nothing wrong with the AMS MBC (nor the Buschur MBC, but I don't use that in my package either). Getting a custom dyno tune is definitely better than a mail-in flash, but we do also allow upgrades to custom Dynoflashes for an additional $200. Of course, that requires proximity to Al in CT or in one of the cities he visits on tuning trips.

All in all, your idea makes for a good package. I think it's much better than the stage 1 and 2 AMS currently offers.

No, not employed, but it is a team effort. It's their business, but I like to include myself, sorry. Surprised by that response, my farmer brother.

BUMP

I just wanted people to look at this package and the price of around 2250 with labor or if it is a better idea to go with the AMS Stage 1 and 2 for around 2830+labor.

AMS KIT

Stage 1
Cone Style Air Filter with MAF Adaptor
AMS Stainless Steel Cat Back Exhaust
AMS In-House ECU Flash
Walbro 255 lph High Pressure Pump
Autometer Boost Gauge with Carbon Fiber Gauge Cup
AMS MBC +$60.00
Stage 2
AMS Upgraded front mount intercooler upgrade
Smooth flow lower I/C piping
AMS 3" full stainless downpipe
AMS 3" Stainless Steel Testpipe
NGK BPR7ES Spark Plugs x 4

This kit says it will get around 400 to 410 crank horsepower.

or...

My custom kit for 2250(labor included).

AMS Turboback Exhaust w/ testpipe
Walbro 255 Fuel Pump
AMS MBC @ 21-22psi
Autometer Boost Guage w/ Carbon Fiber Cup
Forge RS DV
In-House Flash

This should get around 300whp or 385chp.

Thanks and all opinion are welcome. Especially AMS.

If you have the money go with 1&2. you will save some money in labor doing it all at once. and you wont have to reflashed later on when you want to add stage 2

I will join in with Eric,

Do the stages 1 and 2 and you will be loving your car. My 8 is AMS Equipped through and through and I can't complain one bit. Excellent customer service and Martin is crazy with his tuning abilities. Stick with that and you will be loving them.

OHTHREE, have them upgrade all your clamps to T-Bolt clamps trust me on this one. As far as the boost gauge, I just bought an Phantom 11 that eric recommened. It's a beautiful guage.

If you have further questions with ams, call them or PM me I have dealt with them for the last 2 years and will not take my car anywhere else

IMO, if you are going to spend extra $$ past your original kit, I would spend it on:
- Walbro fuel pump
- camshafts (HKS 264 or HKS 272)
- cam gears (fidanza)

The IC will not gain you that much. IMO not worth the small loss of spoolup vs the power gain. The downpipe and test pipe (I'd go with a HF cat) are nice, not sure how much they add to the tab.

both packages come with the fuel pump. cams and cam gears are a bit expensive so that may be after my first investment.
