got a Q for AMS.....
got a Q for AMS.....
would the mini battery kit be ok for our weather around here? im just over the WI border, like 15 minutes away from the grove(union grove drag strip). it gets cold as you guys know. just wanna make sure that it will start my car in the bitter months
I think a lot of other people can answer that question. I have a mini battery (NOT AMS though-got it from PPI. battery is Oddessy..not sure what AMS uses).
I've had the battery for over a year now and drove the car all winter in Michigan. Never had problems with the car not starting or the battery dying. It may take a bit longer to crank, but the battery should work. I think this was a combination of both the EMS and battery.
I also have the battery regularly checked out when I get an oil change. hope this helps.

In extreme cold conditions you can have some issues if you let the car sit for long periods of time. In cases like that its wise to disconnect the battery and bring it inside untill you bring it back out. If you drive it regularly you should not have a problem.

I also wanted to add that buying a battery tender and keeping it connected to the battery during the cold winter months can help also.

The link below is the model I am currently using, plus i use it on my motorcycle battery as well http://batterytender.com/product_inf...a6e738f3e75c37
as for as bringing the battery indoors, my brother advised me that if I do so that to keep the battery stored far away from living quarters as batteries do emit some type of gas that is not good for people to breathe in.
secondly, do not just place the battery on the ground, rest it on top of a wooden board.... as not doing this will cause the battery to discharge its power
Is this a fact or a myth? I dont know, but my bro served as a Seabee in the US Navy for seven years and now currently works as a master tech at BMW....so I trust his advice
