Luckily we found the screw laying on the bottom of the intake manifold. Half hour later Eric Jones had it back together with some lock-tite on the screws and now she's back up and running.

BTW I looked at the datalogg and Mark must have sheit in his pants. The throttle stuck down the main straight at 152 mph!!! Who would have predicted a stock throttle body plate coming apart. It just shows you how much abuse track cars take and how common stuff that would never fail in normal conditions can break or come loose. Oh well, we still have one more timed session and hopefully it doesn't rain.

Yeah, that was a first for me, having the throttle stick open at 150 plus mph. But surprisingly, didn't seem like that big of a deal. It did make me think twice about the left foot braking that I sometimes use though, as I didn't have my left foot available to immediately clutch the car once I realized the throttle had stuck. Hopefully that is the last time something like that happens. I was actually more dissapointed that we couldn't go to kill mode for the last session, and that the conditions were less than optimal to lay down a quick lap. I really believe the car had easy 1:01's in it running kill mode.
Mark

Hey guys, bring life to a semi old thread, but I think everyone will find this interesting.

Below is a link to mylaps showing the results of the last national at St.Louis this last weekend. The only cars that do a faster lap than a 1:02 are open wheel cars!

If you dont know, now ya know

Hey Lawrence.. S2 and CSR are closed wheel... (Ok ok, a technicality)

Still good work guys, outrunning the rest of those by that much is a good barometer.

Good point Jon, they are open wheel cars with a full body covering the wheels therefore making them a closed wheel car. My point was really comparing the TA car to light weight formula based/type cars.

You know what I meant!
