Like many have said on the thread about the difference between them, if you were to be a strict street car, and not care so much about 1/4 racing at a track the 2.3 is a little better spooling and yes there is a torque difference.

However, If you plan to race the car at the track and want to get through the 1/4 mile without hitting 4th gear revs then your better bet would be to go with a 2.0

Both are great motors. One is just a touch more friendly on the street, but Im happy with my choice and switching up!

Thats all the customer testimony I need to make my decision, thanks for the review

What about for road-racing, is getting a built 2.0l a good option to pursue?

My IX makes a lot of usable power all the way through 4th gear, but after that it's final drive time and I can only do so much. With the stock cams, a safe and repeatable 7k redline equates to about 108mph - so looking for power above that. Power all over would be great too, but I'm not really looking for an extra 'x' amount of hp or anything.
Just saying that safely raising the rev limit above 7k would presumably help in this situation. Thoughts?

Although I know there's more power in 5th gear with a turbo upgrade:
Adding say a 50trim of 30r would add power everywhere, but just bring me to the final drive gear faster really.

Just change the final gear ratios in the tranny

As far as motors go I beleive the 2.3 is the choice for Road Racing because of the quicker spool up and further more provides more torque. I think AMS uses the 2.3 in their Time Attack Evo. I would call AMS and talk to them...they will give you the best advice on how to set up your car for your needs.

Also a stroker motor can still be reved out to about 8500rpms

Good luck

I know some people use the 4th gear from the VIII and 5th gear from the IX. But I'd like to go even further if it's an option. Are there more customized options that aren't vastly expensive?

I thought they used the 2.3 as well, might be the 2.3RR that I read about briefly. Haven't heard too much on people using that though. Either way, they're pushing a ton more power and have power throughout the band as compared me!
This is getting to be an expensive question now!
