The official "I remember" thread

I will start this off with my memories of the early days. Feel free to add your memories here.

I remember when an AMS BBQ was only like 10 people around a knee high Weber grill outside the dyno room door before there was even a dyno. I would leave from work at Sound Performance and head out to AMS to grab a brat and hang out with everyone.

I remember when I would wear my AMS shirts to the local 'Mustang' clubs and no one knew who they were. Now, you show up in one, and it is like being Moses. The crowd just splits as you walk through....

Not really a shop memory, but here is an odd fact, I have been to the shop, and my Evo has been tuned at their shop, but I have never been there with my Evo.

I remember walking in the first time after I got my car a few months ago and Eric telling me "Now that you're here, I hope you're prepared to spend a lot of money." Plainly not a very interesting memory compared to some of you guys, but I have a feeling I'll prove him right in the years to come.

Actually, now that I think about it, I remember something else about that day. Thought I wasn't there to buy anything, Eric gave me a tour of the shop (even opening the quickest/fastest VIII in the country) and fired up his car so I could hear their exhaust. It's things like that that create a customer for life.

I remember when i first heard about AMS, i went to the shop on a Saturday and talked to Eric and DSM's 1G's mainly i was in the market for one at the time. Its kinda of weird i ended up getting a 04 WRX wagon LOL. When i started to go the shop more after i got the car, i was wearing the AMS shirts and hats to work and my co-workers where wondering to they where.`

I remember when I was the only sales guy in the AMS office and there was only one desk behind the counter. Hell half the guys that work here were my customers.

I remember when we finally broke Turbo Trix's 9.7 Record and ivan busted his ankle falling down the grandstand at GLD LOL

I remember my first encounter with the AMS guys, well some of them. about 10 minutes from the new shop at a local hang out...wendys/ crispy creme on randall road in geneva.. A couple galant VR-4's and gsx's showed up......and left with are MONEY! HAHA...

I remember wanting to race one of them with my sr20det swaped sentra SE-R and they thought i was kidding.....from there on in it sparked my hate for dsm's and my then couriosity and now customer of you guys.
I like giving you guys my money at the shop way better then giving it to you at 2 A.M. in a parking lot!!!!!!

You guys have done a great job. Thanks for all the help you guys have given me. And thanks for picking a close location!!!!

I remember buying my first 'performance' car. The Galant VR-4. I stayed up all night making my own exhaust at Arne's work (who is now my business partner). After installing and taking it for a few romps in their parking lot, I was hooked. Next was a manual boost controller. I remember taking her out at 11pm on some lonely roads and just doing pull after pull. It fueled my fire and got me started on my passion for performance.
