all that power and you guys are shifting out of first at 50ish MPH? (depending on your shift point) I figured you guys would've at least lengthened the gear ratios a bit, at least in first to allow a more in what I would think a suitable launch w/out really bouncing off the rev. limiter.... Then again, if you guys are launching from 2nd then scratch that whole thing. Because in your runs I generally only hear you shift 3 times.. 1-2, 2-3, 3-4.. and at the top of forth is around 120ish (depending on your shift point), but your trapping at 170+ which really doesn't make much sense seeing near 8k is 170mph in 5th.. But if this is the case and you guys are launching from 2nd and still spinning the tires quite a bit, have you guys played around with the gear ratios? Lengthening the launching gear I would imagine, would help greatly due to a little less torque directly off the line, rather than just hoping the tires will hook.
Now also from what I read that your 8.5x time was done on 965 or so HP.. and if you guys still extracted nearly a 100 more WHP than in your previous best ET, wouldn't you compensate for some of that power off the line due to the additional power output? I would imagine that at worst you'd still get the same 60' and 300' times, due to a little wider launching gear, but if it did end up hooking w/out wheel spin with a better 60 & 300'.. thinking of it this way, your ET was slower than the record by a few tenths... but you beat the previous record by 2mph.. now if it would've hooked?? ya never know.

But I'm not bashing or anything, just really curious.. and I know you guys know far more about these cars than I do, but sometimes a outside perspective is what is needed for the better.. but then again, I could be totally wrong and shouldn't have even opened my mouth. But good luck to both AMS & Buschur in the quest for 7's.

Im thinking 10,200 is good for 165mph and you can set the AEM to limit boost out till ya hook. I switched my o5 first gear out to a evo 9 first cause it carrys to about 65 mph or so.

i think you win this thread

I am launching in 1st gear and going thru the traps at just a hair over 10k rpm in the top of 4th. After growth factor, the approx. diameter of our slicks is about 27". If you do the math, it will all add up!

After growth factor, how big is your head after running 8.56?
