Cost Estimate

hey, can anyone give me a cost estimate of how much it would cost to have a GT37R, ams intercooler, exedy twin clutch, and a 2.3L stroker kit installed at AMS(including labor)? basically, i'm modifying a completely stock ix into a hobbyist track car (daily driven though)..

also, how much does AMS charge for tuning? i'm all new to this tuning business but i'm sure someone can help me out

If i had to throw a number out there, i would say around 13k in parts alone. Labor probaly 100 an hour.

I often wonder how many of these questions ams, or buschur, or any of the big shops gets daily? Sure wish i had the extra cash.

Youll have alot of fun installing the turbo kit. The engine and clutch may be a little tuff for a begginer. No offense in anyway. Your looking at alot of hours my man.

A friend of mine is doing almost this same build, but with the 2.3RR, AMS race head w/ jun cams, HKS Kansai intake mani, etc. Hes using the same turbo though, but HTA and everything is costing him over 33k, but AMS isn't doing the work.

The price can go up and down really quick, but mostly up.

For starters its going to be about 15k for a well done up built engine and a 37r kit, parts only.

Their R&R engine price is about $850-900, depending

Tunes are currently $400/hr if I remember correctly. For a setup like that you will probably need a 1 hour street tune, then another 2 hours on the dyno after the car is broken in.

Alot of things also depend on how long you can have the car down for, if parts on the car are usable for the build, etc etc.

Either way, if you are planning on doing this, make sure you have a budget around for when you start breaking things... its going to start happening if you plan on running that setup to the fullest. If you don't plan on running it to the fullest, stick with your stock engine and a fp green/meth setup. You'll like that much more.

Best thing to do is probably to call them on monday morning and talk to someone about your options.

Go to www.amsperformance.com and you can get the idea as to the cost in parts.

If your going that big, AMS VSR intake would be nice to add to the list, AEM EMS, etc, etc.....

Why don't you just PM eric or call them directly, too many options when you start talking that kind of a build.

AMS is an amazing place and the best group of guys..... Between Eric Jones, Martin, Chris, Eric G..... The guys are amazing and will take excellent care of you!!

Call Them

The best bet for a quote of that magnitude is to send me an email eric@amsperformance.com

list what you have on the car and your goals and I can get you all squared up.

Eric

What kind of "track" are you building up for? Having gone through a similar (albeit smaller turbo) buildup with AMS, I suspect that you are either missing some stuff off your list or may need to re-prioritize your buildup order.
