AMS at the Texas Mile?

When is this gonna happen? Granted we have terrible aerodynamics and gearing for such an event, but you guys make tons of power. The evo guys need someone to represent and get near the 200 mph barrier. I say you guys come down in March.

SW (and boostlogic) setting the new record this past weekend: 241.8 mph!!!

There is already an evo that is well over 200 that competes every year, it is just not an ams car

I saw him go 222 IIRC on Sunday. That white evo2 / mirage (?) moves out. I think they are including the mile into tx2k9 this year.

What,s up guys ?
That is my evo 2 that has been pictured above, and yes I have been competing in standing mile competitions for 2 years now. (and have done very well)
I was at the texas mile this past weekend and ran 223.6 mph (I have to check but I beleive this was the 2nd or 3rd fastest pass of the event) on a not so great pass. The car had quite a few problems as a friend of mine Mike Witt and myself had been thrashing on the car for about 2 weeks straight to get the above pictured setup on and running only to determine at the last second that we did not have the time to make this combo work properly, so we thrased all night long again to put the old setup back on and with all the changes back and forth some things popped up that kept the car from running to it's fullest potential.

Anyway sorry for the distraction to this post. I am also wondering when the evo will come out to play as I would like some company out there, it gets rough being the only 4 cyl. out there.

Tommy's car will be out as soon as he gets it all worked up. In the meantime credit needs to be given to Mike. Mike has been banging away on larger cars for two years now and has REALLY made a name not just for himself but EVO's in general in these mile long races. Everyone at AMS has a GREAT deal of respect for Mike and what he has done.

Its going to nice seeing two evo's go at it and watching the other big boys scratch their heads lol

Your car sounded awesome all day, and everyone around us broke their neck when they heard that turbo. I looked for your camp but got tired of walking in the sun .

Congrats on the mph. The closest cars to that mph were the aps TT c6z and 911 turbo (twin gt35) which were both setting records for their respective vehicles in the low teens.

edit:
Switzer was out in the sledgehammer 997

not real sure because i havent looked, but i am sure he wont use 6th. it would be smarter and more efficient to increase the gear length than shift. which given the people that are involved Chris K, Zohair, Justin, etc i am sure they have all the bases covered

edit: oops maybe Chris K didnt have anything to do with it, but i feel sure he did
