I am having a hard time distinguishing what is going on in the pictures is it rubbing through the silicone or the aluminum pipe. Can you possibly circle the areas in question in those pictures? Thank you very much.

I am not too computer smart so I am working on it. But Originally it was hitting the aluminum pipe. Today I was messing with it for a bit, and managed to get it off of the pipe, and now it's hitting the rubber hoses in between aluminum pipes. I originally put a spacer in between the bracket and the chassis, and that gave me a little bit of room. Hope the pics help.

Here are the pics

There's a crap load so you guys can determine which gives you the best view.

We are trying to get one on a car in here to see how we can fix this or if it is just a simple adjustment issue during install. Thank you for being so patient.

I have installed a couple here at the shop and haven't had an issue yet. I actually just finished up putting one on a EVO along with an intake and it fit perfect.

The best way to install this and any intercooler pipe would be to install the piping and couplers but leave the clamps loose to allow movement to fit and clearance everything perfectly, once everything looks good then tighten the couplers and mounting tab bolts.

If you were to try to butt the piping up to each other and tighten the clamps I could see there being fitment issue. The piping should not touch in the silicone. Just remember to fit everything first and then tighten the clamps and mounting tab bolts.

The first time I put it together the actual pipe was hitting the bracket. I loosened everything up, and had to put a spacer between the bracket for the lower IC pipe that mounts to the chassis, and the body. A couple days ago I took it apart again, and put it back together, and it was still rubbing. Next week I'm going to take it apart again, and give it another shot. Hopefully it works out.

I don't know if I'm asking for to much, but can you guys post pics of one installed on one of your cars. Maybe similiar to the ones I posted?

Alright here are a couple pics that I took. I will tell you guys, it is close but I had absolutely no issues with it rubbing.

Here is the closest point to the body.

And here are some pics of it near the radiator hose bracket. I bolted it right on and didnt have any issues BUT if for whatever reason there is an issue the bolt holding the bracket can be loosened then the brackets turned a little bit to move it away from the pipe a little bit, you can see in the 2nd picture I did this to show even more clearance.

Here are the steps I install the LICP in for best fitment.

1. Put silicone coupler on intercooler.
2. Install U bend pipe and insert into coupler on intercooler and tighten the bolt to the body.
3. Then I install the upper section and move it around in the couplers until it is clear of everything and fits well.
4. Once I am happy with that section I tighten all of the clamps and re-check fitment for no rubbing.

Do you think it would it be worthwhile to weld another bracket to the AMS lower ic pipe to bolt to the available lower radiator hose bracket bolt hole, so there is less error of mis-alignment when doing the install.

Also is there any potential for the AMS lower ic pipe or coupler to rub the radiator core support/frame area when accelerating and decelerating hard, going over bumps, etc., since as indicated it's such a tight fit. Or is there little chance of that happening?

The u bend is mounted solidly to the frame of the car so the lower connection shouldnt move.

There is plenty of room on those pics above. I'm gonna take it apart again, and give it another shot. Hopefully with better results. You know what they say, third times a charm. Thanks for all of the help.

I understand in the pics it shows plenty of room near that radiator hose bracket, but when i installed it was on a lift and everything was done with no rush and installed to perfection as how I am with everything. That bracket did pierce the pipe without a doubt, which sucks cause now im down $299.95+ haha
