Don't paint it, dumbest thing you could do to your intercooler. You'll loose boost pressure I guarantee it.

You won't lose pressure. Thats a bit extreme, no?

Pressure is related to heat Boltz. Take this from someone who did this themselves before replacing the intercooler. I painted my Evo 8 intercooler and I can honestly say I lost power. Yeah it looks better, but you'll regret your decision unless you only care about looks. Put it this way. You paint the intercooler, and the area between the fins gets filled with paint, so the intercooler doesn't work the way it was designed. Trust me this isn't worth doing, especially if you're not willing to compromise power for looks. Good Luck

Think of anodizing as the color becoming part of the metal and painting as just covering up the metal.

I was just about to use that SAME term. Really that's the best way of describing it. It technically forces oxidation into the aluminum to prevent further oxidation. The color is just a dye that is in between the oxidation.

No, it's not likely. If you read about how anodizing is done, it's nothing like paint. They have to positively charge the surface, so you'd have to charge only the "AMS" portion of the metal. It's basically all or nothing.
