2012 Lancer SE AWC

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum so I'll introduce myself.

My name is Tom and I started out messing with cars when I bought my 1991 Eagle Talon AWD. Had it going low 13's with bolt-on's. Eventually put a built head on it. Had a 60-1 for it and all supporting mods. Tranny went, and this being my DD I needed to get rid of it. I regret the decision now, but one day I'll get my DSM back.

Anyway once I parted out the DSM I purchased a 2009 Lancer ES 5 speed back in 08 and had that untill yesterday. The car was awesome, great gas mileage. I averaged 38mpg+ on the highway. Put in a nice system when I had the car, and only had a drop in K&N filter for it.

12/31/11 I traded my Lancer with 56,600 miles in for a brand new 2012 Lancer SE w/AWC. Its black and unfortunately automatic. But I like it so far. It handles great. I leave the TC off when having fun in the snow

Here is a video of me testing the car around a slight turn.

Nice I plan on getting one of these soon, either that or go all out Evo X, but current knowledge says that all my GTS parts will fit on the SE so it's getting to be a hard decision.

Whats your MPG like. I know the older 2.0s are good but with the AWD and 2.4 the epa rates the SE a lot lower now. So what is the truth

I answered in the other thread you posted. But yea the mpg is definitely lower than 2.0, and 2.4s.

Driving mostly city in 2wd mode and conservative I can get 350 miles to the tank. But if I switch between 4wd and 2wd 300 or less. And if I drive in the snow full 4wd 200 miles is about all I can get out of it, but that is with the paddle down for some fun as well.

15.5 gal but that is with 13 gal. fill ups.

So 16-27 mpg city driving. I can get ~34mpg on the highway 65~70mph.

Honestly we haven't had much snow for me to fully test a conservative drive in 4wd. Every time we had snow, I always got on it to have some fun.

Mitsubishi really screwed up by not offering a manual transmission with this car. Imagine how different it would be, you can do the same modding as the ES and GTS, but with the option of enabling 4WD in bad weather. Technically you still could, but CVT sucks.

Anyway, congrats on the purchase.

CVT is very smooth and seems to work decent in the car. Give it some time and i expect we may see a stick shift if sales are good.

Then again, they also said the same thing about the Ralliart and offering a manual version...
