The development of the Haltech Pro Plug-In ECU for the Hyundai Genesis has entered its last testing stage. The feedback from dedicated testers has been overwhelmingly positive and are happy to report that it's on schedule to meet the planned release date.
They have received numerous questions about the features of the new Genesis Pro Plug-in, and while they cannot release the full spec sheet just yet, here are some of the most asked for information.

**FULLY PROGRAMMABLE**
The Haltech Genesis ECU is a standalone fully programmable replacement for the factory ECU.
It bolts into the factory location and plugs into the standard harness without the need for modification or extra wiring.
Utilizing the OEM hardware, making the Haltech Genesis ECU is a true Plug ‘n Play solution.

**DRIVE BY WIRE CONTROL**
The Haltech Genesis ECU has full control over the electronic throttle, allowing the user to improve the throttle response over the factory ECU.
Up to 100% throttle is now achievable under all conditions and the pedal to throttle relationship can also be adjusted.

**VARIABLE CAM TIMING**
The Haltech Genesis ECU has full control over both the intake and the exhaust camshafts.
With a user definable target table for each camshaft, complete control is now achievable resulting is large mid range power gains.

**OBDII Support**
The Haltech Genesis ECU has OBDII compatibility, allowing generic scan tools to communicate directly with the Haltech ECU via the OBDII port.
Real time data as well as DTC’s (diagnostic trouble codes) can be read and erased just like the OEM ECU.

**E85 Support**
The Haltech Genesis ECU has E85 compatibility when a GM Flex Fuel sensor is used.
Fuel, Ignition and Boost can all be adjusted against ethanol content, allowing the engine to run correctly with any ethanol mixture.

We are happy to announce that the official release date for the much-awaited Hyundai Genesis Pro Plug-in is March 5th 2012.

Here are some features the new Genesis Pro Plug-in will include:

Closed Loop Boost Control
The Haltech Genesis ECU will come complete with a built in closed loop boost controller and utilizes the factory wiring and wastegate solenoid. Closed loop boost control allows the ECU to accurately control the boost pressure across all situations. With a 3D user definable boost target table and up to 5 correction tables, complete control is now at your fingertips.


Knock Control
The Haltech Genesis ECU has full knock detection and ignition retard features to protect your engine. If the ECU detects knock, it will immediately reduce the ignition timing and also apply a long term ignition trim. These trims protect your engine from bad fuel and other situations that could cause engine damage.

Closed Loop O2 Control
The Haltech Genesis ECU comes complete with a built in closed loop O2 controller and utilizes the factory O2 Sensor. Closed loop O2 control allows the ECU to accurately control fuel mixtures by automatically adjusting the injection time. The O2 controller can be made even more powerful when coupled with an optional Haltech Wide band kit (pictured below).


Long Term Fuel Trims
The Haltech Genesis ECU also has an auto learning long term fuel trim or LTFT.
If the ECU detects a significant change in air fuel ratio, in can begin to apply a LTFT.
These trims protect your engine and allow the ECU to adapt to all conditions.

With the release of the 2.0L turbo Genesis Hyundai provided performance enthusiasts on a budget with an affordable platform on which to build their dream cars.

With a 210hp, Mitsubishi Evolution sourced motor, rear wheel drive, six speed transmission and an asking price of just $23,000 the Genesis effectively sold itself but it was the performance potential lurking within the very potent power plant that really got the tuners excited.



Bolt-on performance parts quickly filled the demand with aftermarket turbos, exhausts, suspension and brake upgrades becoming easily available. The only notable absence was the lack of a complete Engine Management solution. That is until now.



The hotly anticipated Genesis Pro Plug-In ECU from Haltech is a direct replacement for the factory ECU. It uses the vehicle’s factory sensors and engine hardware thus requiring no messy re-wiring. Simply unplug the factory unit and plug in the Haltech ECU.

Among its numerous features, the Genesis Pro Plug-In supports Hyundai’s electronic throttle (Drive By Wire) and cruise control as well as retaining full instrument panel functionality via CAN communications.

The Genesis Pro Plug-In fits all Hyundai Genesis Coupe (BK) USA delivered models with the Theta (2.0T) motors and a manual transmission.
