All my mods are finally done!
OK, I went to Boost Solutions back in february and discussed with George what path to take with modifying my car. After some long chats, I decided to go with the following:
B&B dp
B&B tp
my existing 3" cat back w/Magnaflow
HKS RS intake
Walbro pump
Perrin fuel rail
RC 660 cc injectors
HKS 264 cams
HKS cam gears
Greddy big IC
AEM EMS w/MAS eliminator & boost control
After some more thinking and trying things, I added the UEGO wide band controller w/display. And a GM boost control solenoid.
I'm monitoring boost & EGTs with 52 mm Greddy Electronic gauges.
I wont say it's been totally easy sailing because of rich running conditions with the AEM EMS, but finally today the Greddy IC is in place and the AEM UEGO will be installed to finish the job to this point... WOOHOOO!
I expect George will do some final tuning of the AEM on the road prior to a vist to a Dyno for final tweaking (I suppose we'll try to schedule Limey's new dyno
)
Anyway, I want to thank George for working with me to get this car done. I think the Boost solutions guys know what they are doing and have chased down minor problems and details to make sure all goes well. I'm confident that this car is going to work out very well. George has been very willing and motivated to work things out and he has even made sure that I was never without a car while he has had mine in his shop
No other tuner I've ever worked with has ever gone as far as George has to take care of me while sorting out the car. So far we have but a few details to fine tune with the EMS and after that I should be set. It's worth mentioning that when big Al was here and he did a Dynoflash to my car, he was fighting against a condition where my car was very sensitive to timing increases and knocked like crazy limiting what Al could do with his Dynoflash. George and his guys found and solved the problem which turned out to be improper cam timing from the factory my car now loves timing
it does not knock at all.... I'll be posting numbers and more details as we get them. In the mean time, Boost Solutions rocks!!

Re: All my mods are finally done!
Let's see what that thing puts down on Dyno4mance's dyno day. Also I just don't see how it could be off from the factory and it should have been CHECKED when cams or cam gears were done, I know mine was.

George actually found out about the cams not being right when they did the cam install.... I posted something about this right after the cams were done. The HKS cam gears should work well as long as they are used properly. HKS is a very good brand and their stuff tends to work well. Anyway, the cams are HKS and I thought that the HKS gears would be a logical choice and George recommended them too
Hi Manuel,
I am gald we did the cams the right way, not by just taking the cam gears, like Todd recommends. In this case we would have never found the problem. That is teh reason why Al could not tune the car,a nd teh car did not like timing at all. Now it is awesome, you drove it on the topend
I will post pictures of the intercooler install later tonight
You know you have the FASTEST stock turbo Evo in GA

Hey Manuel, It's Ryan that used to have the wrx. I'd like to check out your car sometime. I'm glad Boost Solutions figured out the timing problem. Are you going to the meet this Sunday? I am also going to Commerce on the 9th to see what my car will run. I have basically the same mods as you but no AEM ems. Take care.

George, I"am not sure what you are talking about when you say cam gears but I can tell you this he will not have the FASTEST STOCK EVO IN GA. when my car gets tuned we will race and I will smoke you . so dont put my name out like this unless you know what the hell you are talking about. George be a man and put that car you have an the f***ing dyno. I know you will not make 800 hp.
^ Damn, what crawled up your ***. Nobody ever 'put your name out' so I'm not sure where you got that from. And since you know more than George why don't you open your own shop so you can enlighten everybody as to how things should really be done
George, can you post pics of the Greddy intecooler. I want to see what this bad boy looks like. Also I've read online that there are 2 types a Type V and a Type R core for the evo, is this correct? Also what horsepower are this units rated for? Do they come with the upper and lower intercooler pipes? Final, what is the price on this unit? Thanks in advance George!!!
