RE: NY Mitsu dealers
RE: NY Mitsu dealers
This might be a dumb question but I'll ask it anyways.
If I drove to Buffalo would A) The local mitsu dealers stock Evo's (not sure if it would be a special order or something...kinda like Subi and the STi with some dealers here) and B) would they let NON U.S residents take test drives?
I just want to take one out for fun. Anyone??

Well, I could do that....But I am just trying to see if anyone knows if they will even let me test drive one. I'd say that I was moving down in the near future or something....
I dunno....if I walk in there and I'm deciding between a Sti/WRX, Audi A4 or a SRT-4 which are all aimed at the same people (well, maybe not the Audi) and are all around the same dollar (except the SRT-4 (but close to power) then I don't see why SOME dealers would have the right to check your credit before buying. They're first job should be selling you on the car.
If it was Porsche or Ferarri then fine.

Unless you raise hell in the dealership, chances are you won't get a test drive. The corporate policy is that no one will drive until papers are signed. They think serious Evo buyers are educated enough to know specifically what they want. Frankly, I didn't test the car until after I signed the papers, by that point I don't really care how it drives anymore.
If you can locate a dealer that has one in stock, call them. Tell the salesman you're coming from Canada and are absolutely serious about the car. Try to sound as dedicated as your can, and maybe your commitment in driving 2 hours will convince them to lend you the keys.

In case they ask you about customs and importation (since the car is illegal in Canada), then tell them the car is for track only.
Best of luck!
