Importing Mitsubishi from the states

Does Mitsubishi honor the warranty when bringing up a car from the states?

Most company's do, some Asian company's however do not. Your best to call Mitsubishi Canada directly and ask them. Make sure if they say they will to get it in writing.

I don't think they will honor the warranty as Mitsubishi Canada is now relevant to Mitsubishi Japan and not Mitsubishi USA anymore... that's actually why we will finally get the EVO and had the Sportback Ralliart (it was taken out then reinserted in the car alignement in the transition from USA to Japan).

Unfortunately, according to the research done by the APA when you import your Mitsu you loose all warranty coverage see http://www.apa.ca/template.asp?DocID=253#MITSUBISHI

I find this quite frustrating. However, if Mitsu prices the Evo in Canada to compete with the STI then we can expect prices to be around 40 to 45k and you can pick one up in the us for let's say 35k then 5 to 10k would pay for a heck of a lot of warranty work....

As for importing a US Vehicle into Canada see http://www.riv.ca

kinda off topic but while i was buying my lancer last week; i got to know one sales person pretty well. he went to a conference last week and he took some live shots of the EVO X at the conference (to tell sales people how to advertise the evo to customers etc).

he stated that there are 3 trims planned for the evo:

one is "base" evo
second is "MR"
and there seems to be a third, "MR PREMIUM"

he says the prices will most likely range from 45k - 55k , most likely base being 45, MR 50, and MR premium 55.

there were 4-5 EVOS in toronto (he showed me the pictures taken at that conference on his digicam )

Pricing at 45 to 55k That's getting a bit high compared to what current Evo's are fetching in the US and the value of the Canadian Dollar!

Too bad US dealers won't sell to Canadians. The fleecing of the Canadian car buyer continues.....

i totally agree, the price is unreasonably high i think. but then again, if you compare most cars CAnada/US wise, most cars in canada are priced unreasonably as well. the nissan 350z... the Audi TT is about 50k for the 3.2L quattro, pretty much loaded... 75k here i was quoted. 25k difference :S

really US dealers wont sell to Canadians anymore? I guess sourcing private sale state side is all we got then..
