24k

My car is about to hit 24K Kms.

Just wondering what you guys did. Did you guys goto the dealership and buy into the stuff they told you to get inspected and replaced?

Or did you goto a mechanic to get it done?

The dealership is asking for about $270 for this check-up. I feel like i'm getting hosed.

ask the dealership what exactly is done for the checkup.

ask another garage how much it'd cost for the same checkup

compare price.

voila!

but honestly, 24k is not that much by any means, i dont think much needs replacing

whoa 200 for brakes?? That service is only $100 including labour. They tried to rip u big time.

Got mine done for 240 including tune up (Plugs, Lube, oil, Filter), Air filter, breaks Tire Rotation, alignment, inspection and wash.

But they scraped the paint off my calipers and chipped my rim on their Lift (which I didn't notice until 3 days later) so I guess that didn't hurt.
Was there for 2 and a half hours though.

Thanks for the timely reply guys

7,500KM only? And you've had it for a year? You must live very close to where you work.

But how is that possible, don't you come down to Toronto often?

Well, my work is about a 5 min drive away. The car sat for a whole month in the winter because it's the biggest piece of shat in the snow that I have ever seen in my life. I've taken her to Toronto three times.

I suppose I could rack up all the KMs I want as the car's mine and not leased but... I dunno... guess I'm just trying to make her last ? haha.

when i bought my car the salesman told me that they make more money on service. i guess if we wanna keep our warranty we gotta service our car @ the delearship. someone told me that u can bring it somewhere else but make sure keep the receipts if problem comes up. last time i was @ dealership they did my 24k service & paid $200 something for just an oil change, air filter change & some inspections. they were supposed to change my plugs(coz thats what the manual says) but they didnt do it im not sure why but i didnt complaint about it, maybe i should've anyways if something ever happens its their fault, hopefully nothing would happen tho
