Semi Annual TLC 50/50 poker fund raiser
Last month I went out and aquired vendor status on behalf of the car club. I announced there would be a game of chance created to help subsidize this purchase on a semi annual basis. Since drawing straws or darts just isnt that fun. Poker has now been selected as the game of choice when asking our members.
In a nutshell it will go down like this. The target funds is 700, the minimum is $450
ideally if we had 20 players then the buy in would be in and around $75
10 players minimum needed with a 100 dollar buy in
Since its a 50 / 50 game half the proceeds raised goes towards paying vendor status up keep the other half goes to the winner of the game. Since everyone has to be a winner here, everyone will come away with membership status for one year, since we will be having about 15 to 20 group buys a year it will definately pay off if your looking to buy something. just look at the savings on the winter tire package.
I have already gone to hiring two real casino rated dealers / tables that will be paid for out of fundraising half. Second I will not be participating in this game due to the slight conflict of interest, (that and the fact that I am the best) heheeheh. Finally since technically you are buying memberstatus with this game of chance this game has been dubbed legal when reviewing Ontario and Canadian Law.... well thats what I came away with when i went down to the court house asking dumb questions.
If you are interested in such a game please show your interest in posts or a vote.
Finally I should mention that this will be an on going thing, in future games we will attempt to increase the pot with other prizes or sponsored items. I should also mention that there will be a replica WWF belt for the winner who will wear this belt until the next poker challenge when he has to defend it lol. NO JOKE lol haha
So everyone is a winner.

for older lancer, a pricing discount list of older gen lancer on parts at mitsubishi is one benefit. Where possible discounts will be sought, such as the Winter tire deal for older lancers with smaller wheel sizes like 15 and 14" the price is so cheap that its making me jelous, I cant announce it just yet because I gotta get all the dealerships in the loop first

I have absolutely no idea how to play poker and don't really have any interest in wanting to learn lol the only card game I like is Crazy 8's
Will there be an option for members to just give you money for a membership or something?

not to bud in on your fun but i have some questions that need to be answered before i want to be a part of a club.
why pay for vendor fees on evom, when you can just pay money to run your own site ? wouldn't it be cheaper ?
what kind of car club uses someone eles forums?
why do other members have to pay for your own vendor status when its free to become a member on this site? im sure if you go on other websites that are local in you area, you can jump into there group buys too without paying a member ship fee.
who wants deals at dealerships when you can get oem parts elsewhere at a discount price if you just shop around.
i just dont understand, i dont know you personally but i think this sounds like a SCAM.

Reason is simple, I personally dislike online fragmentation, after observing other car clubs for the past 10 years it is wider to move with a wider national movement vs. just a local one, Evolutionm was a logical choice since they have been around the longest and has a wealth of information and vendors which is specific to lancer / evo needs. Is it cheaper to go it alone, short term yes long term no. Direct vendor access and freedom to organize is a good thing

I dont know about other car clubs, but this one does, this does not rule out that we will not have our own forum.

I dont look at it as vendor status in the same sense as you are saying it in. I / we aquired the status to fix the conflicts that were happening with attempting to organize group buys or deals or any type of business. Evolution M rules does not allow this. I stepped forward bought the vendor status. I have no economic interest to be a vendor in the sense you are thinking. If i could rename the status it would be "car club" vs. silver vendor. I have talked to the new owner of evolutionm and am working to further enhance the canadian section by matching up vendors / sponsors local toronto / evolutionm

Dealer OEM vs. some guy at a discount down the street. If I had a nickel for everytime that has bitten someone in the @ss. Dealing with the dealer is best since if anything goes wrong (most of the time) there are protections in place for the customer that make that transaction better and safer in terms of installing and warranty.

If you would like to get to know me or what it is I am trying to do here, then go back and read the threads I have started or you could just ask me privately with a PM message.
I am not a scam artist, every effort I make I attempt to bring clarity and transparency to it. My economic interests or not for profit right now, lol not doing this thats for sure. This is just a hobby and I enjoy getting involved in everything mitsubishi. No i dont work for mitsubishi either.
This isnt a scam by the way, in this specific 50 50 you have a chance of actually profiting.
Its really your discresion if you wish to join the TLC club or remain independant. No one is forcing anyone to pay for anything.
