Anyone going to ImportFest Toronto 2003?

I'm actually going to put my car in, only to keep my buddy company (he has a crazy silver 330ci). Just wanted to see if anyone else was going... if you find a blue evo on the floor, that's me!

BTW I couldn't find an event forum, so moderators, if you'd like to move this please do!

Wow. Drive all the way up to Toronto? I'm sure everyone at Toronto will want to see your car. I heard Evo is rare in Canada. Althought, they got STI.

Yeah it's only a 3 hour drive, fun to hit the QEW. It's at the skydome btw, if anyone's curious. Saturday.

Yeah esp. with this hurricane thing. Good thing I'm from Florida and actually know how to drive in the rain.

You going to the show?

No not from the board. I didn't realize either that there are no Evos in Canada! A couple of people were talking to me about how I was the only Evo currently in Ontario, possibly Canada. I doubted it, but it was kind of cool to think about.

The car was a hit @ the show btw, all stock, nothing but compliments. I even got interviewed by some DVD-producing import company called "Import Flavour". It was funny.

Yeah is that the one they imported specifically for racing and such? I think people were talking about daily-driven registered vehicles.

They also said the Evo would cost about as much as the new STi in Canada, or CDN$63,000. Good lord!!

Couple of pics btw:

Ya, but UR's evo is Californian, not Canadian...it has Cali plates.

None registered in Canada to my knowledge.

STI's aren't $63,000....they're $46495 before tax or roughly $54k.

NICE!

lol, hey I could buy one for you and get the GST back at duty free. What do you say?

(actually I don't think it qualifies, I'd have to get a receipt for a VERY expensive hotel stay instead)

Hmmm, I could give you the money, you could buy one, register it in your ownership, drive it up here and then sell it to me for $1 and the gov't or mitsu couldn't do ****.

Of course you could take off with the money and I'd be screwed

True, but hell CDN$50k is only like US$5, so what's the real risk here?
