You can install the intake yourself. They come with instructions and take about 45 mins or more depending on your skill set. With an intake they claim 5-7 hp gains. With my K&N sri, I don't think I could feel extra hp, but I could feel the better response by the cvt. The only way u will feel huge gains is with a turbo. The bolt-ons like intake, exhaust, header, etc will all only add slight gains like 5-7 hp each.
just keep an eye out on buy/sell forum u might find a used ones for cheap.
check out these forums as well they are based in canada so shipping wont be much if u ever buy something:

I asked what the retail is for a AEM and INJEN now that the prices are higher because of Exchange rate at JRP
Average retail pricing is in and around 450 to 500 dollars. In canada. thats about the same or inline with ordering it from the USA and getting raped by UPS
When we start having our spring bling meets, we will see if we can work out some good pricing on this and other stuff that JRP sells for our lancers and EVOs.

get those N1 mufflers from ebay...they're big and they are noisy. When I got my car, the PO put a N1 on my RA ... I put back the stock muffler ASAP, I don't like the RA when it's noisy. I prefer a high pitch sound from the engine when it revs
If you interested in a intake I would go with a reputable company if warranty is 1 of your issues. A reputable company will back there produst and as well will be made for your vehicle. If cheap is your route and want and intake you can make 1 out of PVC and replace it with stock for warranty issues
, not a good choice in my opinion. You will have to spend a bit of money if you want exhaust noise and hp gains and want to make it warranty safe.
