Warranty Issues
Warranty Issues
Hey everyone - I've been trolling these forums for awhile now, and I am planning to purchase a new 2009 RA within the next few weeks. However, I have a few questions before taking the plunge...
1. If you're under warranty, and you experience a problem that is not easily replicated, will the dealer charge you any fees for diagnosis? I have heard a few horror stories on these forums where they did. I have owned a Acura and a BMW before, and the Service Departments were more than happy to check out the problem if the car was under warranty.
2. Anyone getting severe paint chipping problems? I'm not as concerned with the paint chips, but more with the rust that comes along with it. Living in Toronto, the city salts the **** out of the roads, so this is a major concern for me.
3. Anyone service their cars at MidTown Mitsu or Scarborough Mitsu? How is there customer service?
Thanks for the input.

The car club is very close to a brokered purchasing agreement with an alliance of dealerships, when your ready to buy PM me.
1. The warranty isnt that terrible but I admit it will require more work on your part to get things serviced. You have to be an informed customer before you get in there. Finally keep your cool, blowing up doesnt solve anything (most of the time).
2. the paint issue can be mitigated, and some car colors should be avoided.
3. Scarborough is perfered and their standards at least so far seem above the average Mitsu Dealership. They are a Mitsu that I perfer to deal with

1. All depends on the dealership and who you speak to. I had to get my Sirius module replace because it got screwed up with an update from sirius and not
. They drove me to and from work and replaced it in a day at no extra cost, they even washed my car
. I even told them the following saturday i was ripping it out because i was putting in a new head unit and it wasnt compatible.
Kitchener
FTW!
2. Living in Canada and they way our roads are in spring and winter sucks for DD cars. You will always get chips etc on your car so be ready. I agree that
screwed up on the paint with our cars and should do something about it.
Look into getting 3M protection film and they might even include it in the deal just to sell the car in these tough times.

just before warden and eglinton ave. its right on eglinton. service guys love to see mods and sort of look the other way when you have one installed. ex. mid tor made a stink about my intake , oh warrenty this not covered that while scarb basically said would you like us to change the filter
for general oil changes i tend to goto mid tor because its down the street but always have the mods off so they dont freak out about it. although Jovert at mid tor kinda passed a parts thing to me but when i checked it out it was for evo's so useless for me, then i forgot what the place was called.

I have spoken with Dixie about working together, and they seem receptive. I think they turned the corner when Chris Cook no longer worked there. Because everyone i talked to that hated Mitsubishi Dixie said the name Chris Cook. To this day I dont know why but lol i am sure it had to do with it.

Im glad to hear he is finally gone. He was very cocky and on numerous occausions mentioned how he had connections at head office. Obviously this was being said to try and scare me off but in the end his "connections" didn't keep his *** from keeping his job.
Chris Cooke wasn't the only one that should of been fired in the dealership, a few more people there should of been fired as well.
Scarborough Mitsubishi really sucks, but then again non of them are good. You might aswell give up on warranty work and mod the living day lights out of your car.
good luck.
Also one more thing, why a RalliArt, those things are VERY expensive. Buy an evolution, cheaper for what you get..much cheaper.

Well I went to Scarborough Mitsu today for my shocks, and they checked it out and tell me that one of my shocks are aftermarket. WTF?!? Aftermarket? Then the manager takes me over to another Lancer and shows me the shock to see the difference, but they looked exactly the same minus the rubber boot that was worn off.
Sooooo he tells me to go to my home dealership and act like I don't know what's going on, and have them take a look at it because they must have changed it (Without there being a problem before) And he tells me not to say I had it checked out, or what he was telling (BS'ing) me. So I head to my dealership and tell them right away what he said, they check it out and rule it as normal wear and tear due to my (High) km's
And afterwards the mechanic and service manager were asking me what they said again, and they all looked like

when I told them. Go figure, went to Scarb Mitsu because of the reviews and look what happened.
