Who Else Here Got There Safety Recall Notice?
I got mine in the mail.
How soon should i get this stuff done?
I was hoping to get an oil change at the beginning of June. Is that ok to do it then with the oil change?
I havent noticed anything abnormal with low speed braking after i turn the car on..
thanks

Just hop in tell them your here for the oil change and the recall and they will take care of you. Not sure how long it would take though. Just make sure that they only charge your for the oil change cause the recall is warranty. Take your recall notice just in case too.

The brake booster check valve may remain closed after the engine is shut off. When the vehicle is re started and put into motion, under certain conditions (very slow driving maneuvers), there may be insufficient initial braking assist.
The dealership will install a new brake booster check valve.
That is straight from the letter...
ohhh but it does say this too -
This recal relates to certain 2008 - 2009 model year lancer and outlander vehicles....
so maybe CERTAIN means NOt all of them?

Hmm..I wonder if you need to get the mail first before they replace the brake booster or we can just drop by the dealership and have them do it?!?

vivroy, let us know how this stuff goes down...im going to wait till i get my oil changed to get the work done...2 weeks i hope
im pretty sure this problem only occurs in winter, the boost valve freezes and thats why when u start the car and drive it slow, the brakes MAY not work well... i think this is wat happens, they probably used some crappy gasket and thats the part they replace...
