First time at Pacific Raceways

I went to PR for my first time on Saturday for HPDE. If any of you have never done it but have thought about going tracking, you definitely have to do it. I've only done mission track in the past, but PR is way more fun.

Thought I'd share some photos with you guys taken by my friends.

Was a blast running with you guys! You got me in one of your pics (silver vette)

Lesson I learned for the day in regards to Evos... Don't try to exit turn 8 as fast as an evo on race tires -unless of course you enjoy spinning

Wow you found me on the forums haha.
Yeah it was tons of fun especially the last session! Are you going to get some new tires? Some of our friends are going down again on the 16th and going with BMWCCA, but I don't think Thomas (blue STI) and I are gonna go down that soon.

Hey Austin,

Can't believe you found us on the forums here! It was really nice racing with you, we should do it again. I was driving the blue 07 STi, definitely had a great time.

- Thomas.

Haha yeah I looked around a bit... Couldn't find anything related on the sub forums so I went here.

Here are a few vids I uploaded:

I had a freaking blast -I never thought I'd find something I enjoyed more than riding but this was way better.

I don't know about you guys but I absolutely murdered my tires, went from 75% to 25% if that with some spots almost showing wires.

I'm looking for a second set of wheels and some r compound tires so I can grip better.

We are all planning on going once a month. Next we'll do is in Portland. I was looking at Spokane too and their track looks AWESOME.

Thomas, running with you was the best, we had some great neck and neck runs. I think it was the second session though I just couldn't hang through the corners -I really need to replace the runflats with a better tire. Great driving to both of you, we lapped a ton of people that day.

That blue vette was a disgrace to vettes -I felt like I was driving to get groceries when we got stuck behind him lol.

PS. If you guys ever need a place to stay when you are in town just hit me up. We have a great place, hot tub pool table etc -I'd be happy to fire up the grill and have some drinks with you.

Nice vids! You got the lotus almost hitting the wall on video haha, that was too close. We need some in car videos next time!

I hear PIR isn't as fun as its just very high speed lots of straights and not very technical, and it's much much farther for us from Vancouver haha.. but we do want to go to the new ORP!!

I think you'd be too fast for us if you get Rcomps and LOL at the blue vette.

Wow Austin you got some very good footage of us all tracking!! Our friend is putting together a video and editing right now, once he gets that up we'll post it up to share with you.

Next time we go down to PR we'll let you know for sure so we can get out there together again! I think if you had Rcomps.... you would of dominated even more..... I saw you fishing abit in the corners, assuming its your tires + power

It was a great day indeed. I was in the red civic, even though I am underpowered I happened to pass a few higher HP cars. Hahhaa.

We plan on going on the 16th if anyone else on this board is interested.

Yeah my backend was having trouble getting grip -my instructor was a bit nervous -especially through the kink by the grandstands.

The first session I was going full throttle after turn 8 all the way until turn 1. My instructor was freaking out though going through 9 at full thinking we could catch air on the bump and flip so he made me go half throttle going through 9 and then I'd open her up.

I was wrong earlier, it was turn 8 that I spun after the one time I tried to apex as fast as you samurai (sorry I forgot your name ). And my god was that a spin, I've never spun like that in my life -I had a feeling I'd probably lose it trying it but yeah wow!

I don't think I'd kill you all with R compound tires. Thomas I really wasn't pulling that hard on your car on straights. I think you and I would probably still be right with each other. The evos, I think it's the top end that was hurting them -you guys hang pretty good but once we got up to speed I think the STI and vette had a bit more pull. It was really interesting to see how all the cars performed at different points. I think most of you guys that came down were great drivers (for our experience level) and we got to see where the cars had their advantages.

I have a buddy that is going to join us next time with his 720rwhp turbo'd 350z. He's been doing this for ages, so it'll be awesome to see that beast smoke us all

Oh and the civic -was it the CRX that was trailored down? If that was you -you did a great job! I saw you passing people and it says a lot more when you are passing higher end cars

How have you guys been??

I think we are going to do another HPDE day the end of July, would be really cool to see you all again.

I've added a handful of mods since then, it's addicting and bloody expensive. Finally got the new wheels so hopefully can slap slicks on the stock wheels before the end of July.

Can one of you guys please get a go-pro camera in your car? I would love to see how a full lap looks.

I can't believe I didn't find this thread earlier. I was the silver IX at the IRDC school. I'm in some of the videos too.
