Re: Winter Driving

I lived in Fort Nelson (4 hours north of FSJ) for a year.

Here's what I'd do if I were you:

-Make sure you have a working block heater
-Get one of those ext cords that lights up when its plugged in so you know you have power
-Consider switching to synthetic motor oil, and synthetic gear oil in your tranny (if you've got a manual tranny) ... the first couple of minutes of COLD starts are torture on an engine, and its virtually impossible to shift 90 weight for the first 10 minutes or so, when its -45*!!!

-Additionally, ensure your battery is in good working order.

Hope this helps. Its really not as bad as it seems. Just take precautions, and use common sense! Have fun up there!

And don't forget anti-freeze, both windshield washer fluid and rad.
