some stealers are on crack

So I'm still looking for the right EVO to buy...came across this one in autotrader

http://www.autotrader.ca/a/Mitsubish...1219110828195/

So who wants to pay $50k for a 2010 gsr with 40,000 kms on it?! Granted, there are some nice pieces on it but almost certainly the warranty will be void..and what's "special edition" about it?

450 hp? No pics of the engine bay

Seriously, finding a good EVO is a tough job.

I don't care if Gods' own race shop tuned the effin' thing it's still way above market value for a car that's been driven 40k in 1 year..is that even leather in there?....is a GSR...no warranty...and who the hell gets their money back for mods and upgrades on the resale market? Nobody! Build yourself a hot rod, spend 100k on it and you'll be lucky to get half that. All the cars at this "upmarket" reseller are ridiculously overpriced. But, cars are worth what someone is willing to pay for them so...

and yes, looking for a X only.

On a serious note, at those prices, why don't you just buy a new one? Have you considered importing one from the states as well?

haha ya I saw that one too. I'm guessing they don't actually want to sell that one

Thought about the states, but don't know how and don't want to lose warranty..but if I can't find one here I might have to. Or just order a 2012 or say fuggit and buy a Porsche instead

There's a few people on this forum that could probably tell you the process to import. It's true that you will lose the warranty, but you do save 15-20k. Are you planning on an MR or GSR?

Then I take it you would rather relax and not shift when you're not working. SAT might be righ for you then. For me personally, I drove manual for 10 years and couldn't do the paddle shifting. It diesnt give you complete control at slow city speeds.

I've driven both a GSR and an MR and frankly I much preferred the SST, especially for fast hwy cruising. I also don't plan to build a big motor on it so the SST will be fine. IMO this car is built for handling, not drag racing.

I may have to take the big hit to the wallet and buy new, although finding a dealer that doesn't make me want to kill them is apparently going to be an issue. I swear, I've learned more about the EVO from this forum in the last month than any of those idiots.

Alright! As long as you're sure then it's all good! I bought the MR after test driving one without trying a GSR. Drove a GSR at a club meet and I immediately knew I made a mistake! After taxes and everything, I paid around $60k for my 08 MR. Recently traded her in for a GSR and took a huge hit since I essentially bought it twice!

You're pretty much always better off buying from the US than buying from up here. Even if you lose your warranty, you'll come out ahead of the game as long as you're careful about picking your car.

Dealerships here often sell salvage titled evo 8s in the $20k range. Effing insane.
